  1. Hello and Yes both of them will work together, and just so you know, Malwarebytes is not an antivirus software, it is designed to work along side your antivirus software. Depending on your version of windows, you may have to enter exceptions in your Microsoft Security Essentials to exclude the Malwarebytes files. I can give you that info if you tell me your version of windows.

  4. Hello and Malwarebytes is not an antivirus software, it is a Malware program, and is designed to work as a second layer of protection along with your antivirus software which would be your first layer of protection.
  5. Without going into great detail... Antivirus Software vs Malware definitions... Well an antivirus program is designed to detect viruses and it detects them while the files are being downloaded, or when browsing a folder. Malwarebytes is designed to detect malware and will usually only detect it when it is executed. Malwarebytes Pro also has a web blocker feature that will help protect you from going to known sites that contain malware. The antivirus software is your first line of defense. A developer of Malwarebytes may be able to get you a more technical answer if you like.
  6. Well best of luck to you, and should you have other questions don't hesitate to ask....

  12. Hello and Well without having the computer in front of me, it is hard to say what was wrong with it. There is malware out there can can hide all users files on a hard drive, and even make your computer unusable to the point where the only fix is to format and start over. Now that you have your computer back, I would recommend that you install a good anti-virus program and keep it up to date. I would also recommend that you install the Pro version of Malwarebytes to have layered security. Together with those two programs, it will help prevent you from getting infected. The windows firewall should be enough as well unless you want to invest in a different firewall. Hope that answers your question.

  22. Well I am not one of the developers or anything but, if you really want to stop this service you have to disable the service under computer management. The service you are looking for is MBAMService. This however is not recommended due to the fact that if you ever want to run a scan with Malwarebytes, you will not be able to cause you will get an errors. And then there is one other way, is to completely uninstall Malwarebytes, which is also not recommended because Malwarebytes is the BEST in Malware protection and removal, at least in my book....
  23. From being in the repair world of computers... what I have seen as far as motherboards and hard drives getting wet.... 1. It either gets fried and will no longer work because it shorted out. 2. If properly waited for it to dry out and computer now works fine, more than likely it will be OK. I have used blow dryers and have also used some cloths to absorb the water. 3. If enough water came into contact with the board or hard drive (depending on where you live and the chemicals in your water) sometime after time corrosion builds up on them and eventually will fry the motherboard. 4. I have currently working on my network a laptop that had been left out in the rain, and it has been working fine for over a year. I also have one working that had a cup of coffee spilled on it. I had to replace the keyboard on that one. I also have one that had a coke spilled on it. That one required disassembly and I gave it a bath with some special electronic chemicals spray that will not harm the components. All the same, its a matter of luck if you tell me. As for the error you are getting with your hard drive through the BIOS, That bios was probably build for the type of computer you have through the manufacture, so that they could test the components on the system. If this were my computer, I would continue to use it probably until I replaced the computer or it died. I would however ensure I kept good backups.... That's just me....
