  1. Yah, I've checked numerous times, one of my emails has been breached twice, once from the Avast forum and once from this forum. No big deal, just changed my passwords for both.

Thank you for the feedback. I seriously doubt either will be decoupled from the program, but I suppose if there were thousands of users providing similar feedback that might make them change their mind.

I could possibly see a setting in options to hide certain panels though. That might actually be a good idea for some, but I'm pretty sure there will not be any decoupling of either feature at this time.

Thanks for the feedback on this

I had no expectations that they would change anything I mentioned, just putting in my 2 cents. 😁

    Salamat my friend.

I strongly agree. The language and punctuation is highly unprofessional and annoying; it reads like the sort of overly enthusiastic bombast that some Gen-Z wannabe social media influencer might use in their pleas to get you to like and subscribe their content. Vomit.

Even the language used in the blogpost annoucing the feature makes me cringe.

    Uhh... no.

    Agree 100%. Sounds gimmicky.

That BBC article has been updated, Aeolus came down over Antarica at about 19:00 GMT.

    Here's more from ESA:

Let's hope there were no Polar Bears in the area where the bits crashed down.

The various tabs on this page are also interesting (if you are interested in deorbiting space junk):

I can safely assure you that no polar bears were harmed. 😁

    Hi AdvancedSetup:

Sorry to hear that.  I hope Malwarebytes eventually goes back to the old naming convention (e.g., mb4-setup-consumer-4.5.32.271-1.0.2051-1.0.71xxx.exe) for the full offline installer so users can easily tell which version of MB v4.x is included with the installer.

It's even more confusing now that the small online 2.5 MB download manager (stub installer) at https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download and the ~280 MB full offline installer at https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb4_offline are both named MBSetup.exe.  It would be helpful if Malwarebytes could at least use a different generic name (e.g., MBSetupFullOffline.exe) for the full offline installer.

Sorry, but I may be confused about this, If you have Malwarebytes already installed then who cares about installers? Why does anyone need to download installers, offline or otherwise if you already have the program installed? Someone please enlighten me.

  6. Its not doing it now, I noticed several weeks ago that it was doing this, checked a couple days ago and it had stopped, was there a new version released in between? Screen resolution set at 1920 x 1080.

Edit: I see there was a new version released 2.6.2 so whatever glitch there was on my computer with 2.6.0  version 2.6.2 fixed it. ( I never checked to see if it does this out of dark mode.)

  7. There are steps you can take to try to keep your information secure on your computers, there is nothing you can do when any information you have is in the hands of others. Think IRS, banks, shopping sites, hotels, airlines, the list is endless. Be aware that virtually all of these will be hacked eventually and that almsot everyones info will be "out there" for sale. The only defense we have is that with hundreds of millions peoples info exposed that the chance of yours be abused is slim.

  8. Sorry to hijack your thread Brad but I have a quick question and didn't figure it was worthwhile to start a new one.

I have Ads/Trackers off for all websites, however when I go to any site, all which I know do not contain malware, the Malwarebytes browser guard icon shows several blocks. What is it blocking if there is no malware on site and it is not supposed to be blocking ads/trackers?

    Thanks.

  9. I want to give my feedback.

I do not like the "Shop" icon. I don't install a security program to shop, I know why you guys do it, I just don't like or need it.

I wish there was a way to minimize or get rid of the "Online Privacy" box for those of use who won't be using the VPN.

The " Security Advisor" box is great for some, but for those of us who don't need or want it I wish there was a way to get rid of it also.

The first two issues are just a way of upselling which is a no-no for me.

    Thanks

Off topic but the number 555 always brings up the 555 timer IC from when I was back getting my electronics degree.

Congrats on reaching 555 posts and helping out here on the forums.

Thanks, but I rarely post anymore, the team you have that manages and provides support on the forum does an excellent job, they sure don't need my help.

  11. FYI, I went to that site and it defaulted to Nova Scotia as well, the pop up asking for permission to access my location appeared, I clicked 'Allow", location then reverted to Manitoba( I live in Manitoba as well), I closed browser and then opened site again, this time the location was correct, it showed Manitoba. This is using Chrome and not using MB. ( not sure if this helps😁)
