  1. Did you remove them? They should be in quarantine if you opted to remove them.
  2. You are very welcome!!! Add Reply does not pertain to creating a new thread, no If you think you may have a False Positive on board, please read this: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=3228 And then post here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?a...w_post&f=42
  3. Hello scanreg, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Actually, when an item is removed, it does go into Quarantine (even though it says its being removed), so no worries As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page. Thank you
  4. Okie doke, here is what you need to do, as you unfortunately are still infected: Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 72 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 72 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button or erase what the person you are replying to said, as this makes the forum easier to read. Thank you
  5. Hey there Wait, are you getting a 732 or a 723 error? You mentioned both, but is it one over the other?
  6. Um, Buttons, where were we talking about Limewire? Anyway, lets stay on topic
  7. Hawes, Please use the ADD REPLY button at the bottom of the page when replying or erase what the person you are replying to said. Well, I would recommend uninstalling all but one anti-virus program but if you really want to keep them all... make sure that you disable the realtime/resident protection on ALL but one antivirus program of your choice as they can coflict with each other and actually LOWER the security and protection of your system. Malwarebytes and Superantispyware are not antivirus programs though, so you can leave those be Yeah, it's scary out there. I can tell you though that lots of music and picture files were transferred off of an old computer (Windows 98) onto our current computer, and I have run AVG scans on it (my old AV), Malwarebytes, and Kaspersky (my new AV) as well as a virus-only scan from Kaspersky, as well as SpyBot scans and they all came out clean. And I mean normal scans, not scanning all the time. Not to say that our situations are the same, but, the old computer probably didn't have the best security setup on it either
  8. Yeah, I haven't used it in years. I used it a long time ago, then we tried McAfee... then I've used AVG... now I use Kaspersky and for free AV's I recommend Avira, MSE or Avast!. I personally didn't have any trouble with Norton really, but I know others who have.
  9. @ DangurXtreme, You're welcome If you can afford it, I recommend purchasing an AntiVirus product for these two reasons: 1) Paid versions often have more features (although the free versions offer great protection too) 2) By paying for the AntiVirus program, you are supporting further growth and development and detections in the company that you choose to purchase the AntiVirus product from. Otherwise, I do recommend changing AV's if you want to, but if you don't, that's fine too TeaTimer is not that effective anymore, although it can help. I say this because SpyBot is updated about once a week and so the definitions can be old by the time the update rolls around... Malwarebytes offers exceptional real-time protection for a one-time cost of $24.95 for home use. Yes, no annual subscription fees for home users MajorGeeks is currently offering a 20% discount off of a Malwarebytes license purchase though: http://majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html (and you just click on Download@MajorGeeks under the dark brown and yellow word Downloads in the middle of the page there). And once you get to the thank you for downloading page... there will be an advertisement for purchasing Malwarebytes at 20% off Wait, with the registry cleaner that you purchased for your son's computer, are you saying that the cleaner corrupted his harddrive, or was the harddrive already corrupted? I am a little confused. I myself had a bad experience with a registry cleaner/tool, and I will not touch them again unless a) I am under the guidance of an expert or b ) if I ever come to a point where I know exactly what I am doing Also, since we are talking in the middle of someone else's post, please post a new topic in the PC Help forum if you are going to reply to my last post to you here and I'll find it and reply to you again This will make the current thread much less confusing.
  10. I also had no trouble removing Norton fully on two systems, but I know another individual on here who has and you have had trouble too. Hmm. I guess it depends on the system and the programs/configurations on it, or maybe they randomly give systems trouble when users try to remove them... who knows
  11. I also don't care much for AVG anymore, although I've used it a lot in the past. I had no trouble removing it though, thankfully.
  12. Hello hawes, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Honestly, if all those scans came up clean, those files are more likely than not clean. Are you noticing anything weird or out of the ordinary happening on your system since you transferred the files? You don't have more than one anti-virus installed on your system though, do you? As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page. Thank you
  13. Hello Kelemvor, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org May I ask why you uninstall Malwarebytes after using it? It's a good idea to keep it on your system and do at least a weekly scan. That being said, no, you are not endangering your machine, although uninstalling it and then reinstalling Malwarebytes multiple times isn't really the best idea, just because reinstalling and uninstalling shouldn't be necessary unless you are having issues with the program itself or updating the program when a new version comes. Also if you use it more than once ever, it does not hurt at all to leave it installed on your system, even if you only use it once a month or less. As for threats that are placed in quarantine, once placed there, they are rendered dead and can no longer harm your system. As long as you have not used the mbam clean tool, if you uninstall Malwarebytes and then re-install it, the items you've deleted previously will still be in quarantine. Items are placed into quarantine in the unlikely event that there is a result that is actually a False Positive. If you experience no issues with your system and programs after a week or two of placing items into quarantine, it is safe to delete them from quarantine. As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button when replying. Thank you
  14. Also no clicking sponsored links! http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...st&p=139872 And being care of what is clicked on... look at URL's, take a look at what the description is in Google results... Google the name of the website that you are thinking of clicking on if it looks as though it may be suspicious & see if there are any hits and if so what is being said about that website.
  15. Hello DangurXtreme, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org That does sound like a pretty good combination. I used to use AVG, and although it gets the job done, I would recommend changing AV's. Is your AVG free or paid? Is your MBAM free or paid? And are you running TeaTimer with Spybot? I don't recommend using a registry cleaner/tool unless you know exactly what you are doing. Were you previously infected, as you mentioned using Combofix... As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page. Thank you

  17. Hi Megan, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org and thank you for your purchase You need one license PER computer you wish to install it on. Each (home) license is a lifetime license, though, which means no annual subscription fees to pay. And if you buy multiple licenses at once, there are discounts available. I hope this helps As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page.

  19. Um, I get that popup every time I open SpyBot. Have you never seen this before? Attached is what I see every time I open it. Is that what you see, Chimpy?

  21. It's a 100% of what it says it does as far as I know. I've gotten it on 3 machines so far as I think you may have seen in the forum here, and all three users are happy with it, and like I said, I've personally seen it block stuff in realtime and a Mbam quick scan confirmed a clean machine on the one that had a rogue blocked
