Antivirus 2009

Recommended Posts

A friend is having trouble getting rid of Antivirus 2009 with MWB. The only times I've had to use it, it worked perfectly, except when the user had a rootkit. Every time he deletes it, it comes back. What's the secret to getting rid of it once and for all? He has XP.

He can get help from one of our malware removal experts by following these instructions for posting in our Malware Removal - HijackThis Logs forum.

I will definitely pass along this forum to him. Thanks.

While I have your attention, how well does the Pro version work to prevent infestations? I have a non-profit organization I help. My guess is that they really need to Pro version, but the funds are not there yet. I need to assure them that it is worthwhile to save up and spend the money.

Greetings. It is very worth it to have the pro version as it prevents nasties like this one (and many, many others) from infecting your system. It's light on system resources, updates automatically and can be used to schedule automatic scans. It's also designed to play nice with antivirus so running Malwarebytes' Pro and a good antivirus would be an excellent way to go to protect their systems.
