Hi,

Hopefully someone can help me. I believe my machine is infected with that 2009 virus going around. I read the instructions on how to scan and post logs. However, Malwarebytes and Spybot freeze during the scan. With Malwarebytes I get the windows error report and with Spybot I get blue screened.

Thanks

I would try and scan it in safemode, and or safe mode with networking just to make sure you have the newest updates in place.

Hope this helps

Even if you can't get Malwarebytes and Spybot I would start a thread in the HJT forum, this will require a trained expert that specializes in the nastier infections.

Malwarebytes really isn't nearly as effective in safe mode as it is in normal mode, so I don't think it would help you very much. You really should follow DaChew's instructions. Just read the instructions here:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2936

and post your logs in a new topic here:

Please be sure not to install any software or use any removal/scanning tools exept those that you are

instructed to by the expert who will be assisting you as doing so can make their job much more difficult.

I hope I was helpful. Good luck and safe surfing.

Following the links above does not work because I get bluescreened halfway though the scan on spybot and i get a critical error with malwarebytes. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling but with the same result. I use my mac to download the programs and run them off a flash drive just incase the download could have been corrupted on my PC.
