Ok. As long as it's a common occurrence that I've been lucky enough to avoid for this long on this puter I would say there's prolly no reason to scan it.

I found some webpages, like surpluscomputers.com that I might be able to grab a new puter from in a few months. Just want to be sure this one lasts that long.

If you are looking for a computer, I would suggest you browse around some of the pawn shops/second-hand stores (if there are any) that you may live by. I've found several very good computers at pawn shops before, and you can usually find them at significantly reduced prices compared to brand new ones. ;)

Oh My, I never thought of that. Just moved to Misery err...Missouri less than 2 yrs ago and was astounded at the number of pawn shops here. Came from Central NY. Pawn Shops are few and far between where I came from. Still getting used to Missouri.

And for some stupid reason I still can't see the pic of Peanut on my screen. I see yours ok. But not mine.

Hehe they're everywhere in the midwest! Try looking around some time, I'm sure you can find a pretty good computer for a reasonable price :D

In case you wondered, its standard procedure to revert them to factory settings, so that way you won't get any of the previous user's data (and malware hehe )

I guess I should look around the next time I go into town. Won't be able to buy anything for awhile but at least I can get a good idea of what is out there and what kind of prices there are.

Well, I guess I should leave you alone for now. All the other questions I had when I first started today went right out of my head when I saw that blue screen.

Nothing like idol chitchat when your trying to help people huh?

Can't say enough good about Mr D-Fred-Brown. Very good at what he does to help and if he doesn't know he's not afraid to tell ya he has to get advice from appropriate people. Very personable and easy to talk to. Doesn't mind taking all the time needed and then some. But most of all, he doesn't mind listening! Great Advisor! A+++ in every department!
