I used MBAM in safe mode to clean it out but now I have another problem, and i,m not sure if it is from the cleaning or because the virus is still present. 1. my start menu has lost the file associations (when I click on something, it wont open), but it works if I boot in safe mode. 2. I cannot get firewall or automatic updates to work. Note: I turned off wireless internet access imediately andf still have it off. Is it possible that cleaning the files caused this or is it the virus? I have printed out the "Im infected" post... can this procedure be done in safe mode?
