PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING(12150,0,WInHttpQueryHeaders)

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My OS is Win XP Home with last Service Pack and up to date for Win Hotfixes.

I'm using Avast antivirus Pro 4.8 or 5.0 on my computers.

I'm using the last free version of the product in french language and when I'm trying to update the software, I have the message "PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING(12150,0,WInHttpQueryHeaders)" and to write this to support team.

What Can I do to suceed in updating the software. Let me know if there's already a topic about this error.

Thanks

Hello Steph59,

Please allow your Sunbelt Firewall to allow MBAM.exe to access the Internet.

Firewall Settings -> Web Filter Settings -> Allowed Web Sites

Also make sure that none of the checkboxes on the Allowed website screen for mbamupdates.com are checked and all the actions list Allow.

thank you

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello,

I allow the first time MBAM to access to the site of Malwarebytes when MBAM tried to access to update.

For the first use of MBAM, I succeed in updating definitons but after a period, I don't succeed in updating MBAM's definitions.

In filtering, all is allow for the MBAM programm.

Thanks.

Hello Steph59,

Please add: data-cdn.mbamupdates.com to your firewall.

Also, can I please get a screen shot of your Firewall to ensure you can update MBAM properly.

To perform a Screen Shot:

  • Run your firewall and have the items allowed on screen
  • Press the 'Print Screen' button on your keyboard
  • Open Microsoft Paint and Hold Ctrl and Press 'V' (Paste keyboard command)
  • Save the Screen shot and include it in your next reply.

Thank you!

I also have encountered the PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING error. My settings are:

Windows Home Edition, version 2002, Service Pack 3

Use Norton Internet security version 10.2.0.30 for both firewall and anti-virus

MBAM version is 1.50.1.1100 (PRO version)

Database version is 5363 (12/20/10)

Use ATT DSL modem to connect to web

Only 1 computer (this one) affected

From another forum here I found a list of programs needed to be added to the firewall program that might allow updating. Most were C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\xxxxxx files and they were either already added or I was able to add to allowed list except for these two:

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll (Could not find any such file)

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes'Anti-Malware\rules.ref (Could not find exact file. Nearest one found was same except substitute my name for All Users.
