Here is my log file. Could someone please tell me if it is safe to remove this infected item?

Also, when I started the developer scan I got the message "Swiss Army failed to initialize Error Code 5", but the scan did continue to run and completed. Thank You

Hi Jean, I am not aware of having one of those toolbars listed. And do you have any idea about that Swiss Army error code 5 message. Thanks.

That is just an entry in the Registry where Microsoft tracks what toolbars and add-ons have been run or added to the system. This is not a current infection and is safe to allow MBAM to remove it.

If you're getting the Access Denied error message then you may need to remove MBAM and reinstall it.

Is this a Paid or Free version of MBAM ?

Thank you for your time and advice. I am not sure what you are referring to when you say Access Denied. Is this in reference to the message "Swiss Army failed to initialize Error Code 5"?

Are you running a 64 Bit version of Windows Vista?

No, it is the 32 Bit version. I remember seeing a list of the error codes and what each one meant. Do you know where that is?

From a command prompt you can access what the different error messages mean. In this case it already told you though.

net helpmsg 5

Access is denied.

At this point if you're still getting this error message then a removal of MBAM may be in order, or you may have some other issue on your system.

1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel.

2. Restart your computer (very important).

3. Download and run

this utility.

4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).

5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from

here.

Hi AdvancedSetup, thanks for all your help to this point. Before I tried your latest suggestion, just out of curiosity, I ran the developer scan while I was in my Admin account instead of my standard account. I did not get the "Swiss Army failed to initialize Error Code 5" message. I also have to either use "run as administrator" or my admin account when I want to update MBAM's database. So I guess these issues have to do with Vista's UAC. Thanks again for taking the time to help me.
