AUTORUN CD??

hi.

ive recently installed a utilities program by the name of tweak now powerpack 2010.

ive done some research on the program and it appears to be ok.

thing is it started an item called autorun cd.

could anybody tell me what this is and if its ok?

Many computers already have this as installed - It just means your CD player recognises the CD and starts it -

Just do not use the registry cleaner section of the program -

Microsoft recommends autorun should be disabled on all drives. For more information please read MS-KB967715

Hi mbam daz.

CD Autorun is just a convenient tool under tweek now that blocks cd/dvd's from automatically running once inserted. You can also turn it off under control panel AutoPlay. Worms like Conficker or other malware often use autorun to infect other computers by usage of media(flash drives, cd's etc).
