Hi,

I'm having malwarebytes pro version and kaspersky internet security as my protection suite.

I have two logical partitions (C and D).

I tried a full scan with mbam. It runs correctly in the C drive and then suddenly stops in this directory:

D:\Softwares\MicrosoftVisualC__6.0_jzn\Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 Standard Edition\VC98\CRT\SRC\PLATFORM\XMT_LIB

So I tried to check errors in the disk and it repaired.

I ran the scan again and the result was a failure.

I have already posted the logs in the link:

http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...mp;#entry242783

It contains all the logs required.

The scan does come clean from KIS and MBAM and other logs.

But this seems to be a weird one.........the scan stops at a particular directory entry.

I ran the scan in safe mode and it worked.

I don't know what to say since I have bought the pro version and didn't seem to get any support.

Is it wrong using KIS with MBAM??? Is exception really needed to be added for KIS since it completed the scan in other locations?

If so, how do you add exception in KIS for mbam??? Thanks for reading.!

Heres the tutorial on how to add exclusions to Kapersky:

http://support.kasperskyamericas.com/knowl...se-article/1719

And here are the exclusions you need to add per your O.S.

For Windows XP:

* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll

* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll

* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll

* C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

* C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys

* C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

For Windows Vista or Windows 7:

* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll

* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll

* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll

* C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

* C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys

* C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7:

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll

* C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

* C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys

* C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude them from it as well

I actually use Kaspersky & Mbam together and they work fine together, and I have added the necessary exclusions as well. If you need a screen shot, I can provide one to you within the next day or so :)

Also, it doesn't hurt to temporarily disable Kaspersky while installing a new version of Mbam :) Don't forget to re-enable it after completing the update.

Added exception and still not working.

The problem is that scan does happen at other locations and stops at a particular location.So Kaspersky cannot block it.(Exception needed in this case?Need an answer here.)

Is it wrong with the file(does it contain a malware) or how can I skip that particular directory so the scan continues?(If I skip a file, does it involve a security threat?)

So confusing that the scan runs at safe mode...........

You can try moving the file/folder it gets stuck on to a different location temporarily, then run the scan again to see if it still sticks, then move the file/folder back to its original location, then run the scan once more as that will sometimes correct such issues.

Thanks a lot.

Problem Solved by adding exceptions+relocating the problematic folder and then placing it again.

Works.
