Run-time error '9' subscript out of range

I am also running into this particular problem. I am cleaning up a friends computer and installed a fresh copy of 1.42 using the directions from bleeping computer to remove the AntiVirus Plus malware software. However whenever I run the scan it finds 39 infected files and stops at c:\windows\system32\xpsp4res.dll stating Run-time error '0': Subscript out of range. Upon clicking OK, it closes malwarebytes and nothing was done. Should I perhaps download an older version of malwarebytes or just try to find another removal tool? I would like to avoid doing a full reinstall if possible.

Well, I only have the free version so they may not help me at all ;) Everyone recommends malwarebytes, but I can't see paying for the full version if I can't even get the free one to work  we'll see

Hello , and welcome to Malwarebytes.org

We will help anyone using the program, free or paid. It just takes time. There are only so many helpers and hundreds of posts for help. It's also the Holiday Season so wait times are increased as Helpers are with their Families.

Maybe try issue 4 from the FAQ and see if that helps or not: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=10138

Otherwise please follow the directions below.

We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums.

Please print out, read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here.

One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.

After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someon has replied to your post.

Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org
