service

Recommended Posts

I am using MBAM Pro. I only use it for on-demand scans. I noticed that MBAM Pro installs as a service. In order to reduce constant memory use, I disabled the service. I assumed that the service feature was connected only to the realtime protection. The on-demand scans still seem to work OK. I read a review of MBAM by Donna Buenaventura who says that if it runs as a service then this allows it to have full access when scanning and removing.

I am wondering if disabling the service has any effect on the functioning of MBAM when used exclusively for on-demand scanning.

You might want to consider turning it on sometimes though, at least for web searching/surfing purposes, as it adds excellent protection for your computer in addition to Avira :(
