I'm just on the forum here and listening to some music on my iTunes :) Nice and relaxing. I haven't listened to music much in a long, long time. I miss it.

Mostly I listen to the radio on the way to work and home and when I go other places now, and that is it for my music listening lately, and CD's in the car sometimes too. Although I enjoy listening to music on the radio, I miss listening to quote my music, hehe.

Me too! Up very late (it's 4.56am!!) here in London. Got a cd playing in the laptop with wmp (ugh!) and listening to "I am Chipmunk" - a track called "Look for Me". It's track No 10 if you've got the cd.

Been playing the same track for the last hour!! It's absolutely brilliant foot-tapping, head-nodding music!

Love it too! :)

We're a music loving bunch here I see! :)

I've never heard of that band or the song, but it sounds cute :)

aw, how come you are up so late (or should I say early)? I am going to sleep soon.

hi mountaintree,

the band I should say is called "I Am Chipmunk - at the moment they're No 5 or 6 in the album charts here. And immensely popular at the moment on Capital Radio (a popular chart-playing station in London).

Being not-quite a-teenager, single, on annual leave (officially!) and not having gone anywhere this week, continuing to work permanent nights for over thirty years (it pays the bills etc), mild workaholic tendencies and grossly insomniac ones (courtesy of way too much night duty coupled with ultra-strong filter coffee) and grateful to have a fulltime job plus keeps me content if not actually happy!

hi Marcus! :)

Oh awesome! I'll do a search on them online and maybe see if I can get a sample song clip to play in iTunes or something.

Ah, I see. As long as you are happy, that is what matters :) I hope you get some much-needed rest soon :)

Thanks. If you find it would you let me know what you think of it?

They're better-known for the third track on that album; it's called "Oopsy Daisy" (no-really-it is!). Also very popular and played frequently on pop radio, including Capital. Very often requested by people who phone in.

Have a listen; see what you think.

Malware research in my lab. :) Jamming to tunes on my mp3 player, as my roomie is asleep in the other room of the lab, and I don't want to disturb him....

I'd jam to tunes in the van I just bought, but the stereo is completely dead; so that's going to be replaced.

You're welcome Marcus! Sure, I'll let you know waht I think. I just had a thought, I could get it off iTunes and give it a try, after all, the songs are only 99 cents :(

Thanks, I will have a listen!

Sweet! Music is awesome, and it can be listened to while doing a variety of different things. :(

Gak, it's such a pain when the radio/stereo in motor vehicles die/don't work correctly. I almost always have the stereo on when I am driving.

I have the radio on or a cd playing almost all the time even when I'm on line ( but not when I'm asleep or at work). Simple and pleasant entertainment for me.

Sometimes I like it very quiet when I'm reading but after a while I get a bit uncomfortable with that.

Don't like it too loud in the car if I'm driving. :)

I like to have music on while I am doing other things too, but I haven't done this as much lately as I used to in the past :) I just recently started listening to iTunes while I was on the computer; I haven't used the program much really in over a year or more, so I kinda forgot about it (other than keeping it updated). I mostly just use(d) it to organize my iPod, hehe.

I like it quiet when I am reading too. I've tried listening to instrumental music before whilst reading, but that doesn't usually work out very well.

I kinda like loud-ish music, but it can't be too loud, and if its in the car, it definitely can't be too loud. I am very careful with how loud music is and loud noises, I like having my hearing intact, hehe :)

Thanks for the URL; I'll check it out next time I have a chance! :)

Yeps.. I went to finish the last payment on the van, and then my friend who I was purchasing it from reminds me (hehe) that the radio is completely dead. And sure enough, it is. I was singing to myself last night on a drive to walmart. LOL.

Once i'm familiar with all the normal sounds of the vehicle, then I'll get a little daring and bring my mp3 player with me. LOl!

Can't have loud music in the van as yet, I need to know of any noises that are not normal. :)

Ah, I see. Well, singing to yourself isn't so bad, hehe.

Ah yes, good idea to see what sounds are normal and which ones are not. Once in a while I shut off the music too and listen to the car to make sure things sound normal :)

Are you telling us, Raid, in a sort of roundabout way, that this van consists of more rust than metal and bits that are in the process of falling off? :)

You don't have to buy a van to buy a stereo, you know! :)

Oh, no by no means.. The van is in fairly good condition; Well maintained. Just that the factory stereo system is dead. :)

I have previously owned something worse than the condition that you describe tho. What oil it didn't leak, it added to the fuel, like a 2 cycle :)

I did put a very nice stereo system in a vehicle that wasn't worth the tires it had on it, several times. What can I say, I like my music. :)

This no music issue with the van will have to be fixed, asap tho. I am fairly confident that I know all the noises of the van now. It's the 2nd fullsize vehicle I've ever driven. a 91 ford econoline 150 commercial class (no passenger seats, passenger anything.. basic, work van).

  • 2 weeks later...

Putting up with another dreary rainy day here but glad to have the Internet to entertain me.

I don't have an iPod nor iPhone as I don't need them but I do have a Sony Walkman NWZ-B105F that I use quite a bit to store Steve Gibson's Security Now talks on to listen while traveling on the bus as I don't have a car due to being retired and have to live on an adequate pension.

My taste in music is Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones and musicals like Phantom of the Opera with my Logitec R-20 speakers that I have to keep low as the sound carries far through the concrete walls in this appartment.

Hi Gogo and welcome to the forums here! :)

I agree, music is very important in our lives, and I am glad that you've found your favorites :)

Music really helps me out, especially if I need to let off some steam or calm down or any variety of situations and reasons.

Thank you, you have a nice day as well! :)

@ YoKenny1

I don't like dreary rainy days either, they really can dampen your mood, especially if they happen for more than 2 days in a row, at least that's how it is for me.

My brother actually gave me my iPod as a gift when he bought himself a new one, which was very kind of him :)

I'm glad that you have your Walkman to listen to things on.

I like Pink Floyd too :)

Music is so amazing, I don't know what I'd do without it, hehe.

Just wanted to let you know, I'm on iTunes now and am going to download that Oopsy Daisy song you told me about, any others you would recommend? I think I'd download up to 3 of their songs to have a listen :)

Edit: I'm listening to a preview of "The Chimpmunk song", and I have heard it before, its awesome :) It's on the Christmas album of theirs.

There are two albums available on iTunes from this band, and you can either purchase the whole album or individual songs.

I'm not seeing Oopsy Daisy :)

Not seeing it on iTunes or can't find it on the CD listing?

Other great tunes I've heard recently:

1. "Broken" by Beyonce (the broken-hearted girl song); by far the best tune and words I've heard in a long time; good melody, and I admit I do like Beyonce - she is a good singer, imo, with clear vocals. And it's kind of easy listening/semi-mood/heart-breaker music. Just lovely. :)

2. Alesha Dixon's song called "To Love Again". It's on her Encore album. Very good track; I highly recommend it. Have a listen to it and see what you think of it.

I'll listen to the preview of those songs and if I like it/them enough I'll buy it :)
