64-bit OS and/or QuadCore versus 32-bit and DualCore

Just wondering whether the performance of the paid version of MBAM will differ when using a 64-bit OS and/or quad-core versus the 32-bit DualCore platform on which it is running now.

Probably not much difference. Disk read IO is more important for this in general.

As the files are on disk the bottleneck is disk IO as AdvancedSetup mentioned . If you want to see both boot times and scan time become dramatically better switching to SSD tech is the way to go .

Its a very bad time to upgrade hardware as there are 2 major and 1 minor tech changes right around the corner . USB3 , SATA 600 and 32nm Intel chips will all show up right around the same time . Once SATA 600 SSDs get here they should easily be capable of 4 times burst and 20 times sustained throughput compared to the top of the line SATA 300 platter style HDDs available now . The move to 32 nm intel chips will allow them to add 500-1000 mhz to their current lineup .
