Malwarebytes won't start with Windows

Recommended Posts

I can confirm that this issue is to do with Windows 10 and Cloning your OS. I know this thread is dead but I found it and wanted to give advice to anyone else that comes across it.

If you have this issue, the best way to fix is to remove all the software. You can use something like Revo Uninstaller to make sure every trace is gone. Then reinstall. It's a hassle but it seemed to have fixed it for me.

Follow up. I could not see a fast start setting in my windows 10. This is only if the above fix does not work.

There are several issues that can cause an issue and most are not related. The best thing to do if Malwarebytes will not start is to post logs so that we can review and see what the cause may be.

To begin, please do the following so that we may take a closer look at your installation for troubleshooting:

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained are safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

  • Download the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  • In your Downloads folder, open the mb-support-x.x.x.xxx.exe file
  • In the User Account Control pop-up window, click Yes to continue the installation
  • Run the MBST Support Tool
  • In the left navigation pane of the Malwarebytes Support Tool, click Advanced
  • In the Advanced Options, click Gather Logs. A status diagram displays the tool is Getting logs from your machine
  • A zip file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your desktop, please upload that file on your next reply

Thank you
