malwarebytes says protection disabled?

I am running Windows 10 and when I click the bottom right /\ arrow and click on the malwarebytes

it says  Malwarebytes Premium Program version 3.7.1 Protection disabled

Does this mean my Malwarebytes has expired? I trued to open this link to find out if I have to pay to get this activated.

But it is not opening up. Any idea if my account has expired or anything? 

Yes I saw the email from Culee (is this spelling right?) and I may need to go to that route. But will this wipe out my account or will I be able to see if its expired.

If you haven’t already done so, please run the Malwarebytes Support Tool and then attach the logs in your next reply:

  1. Download Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Once the file is downloaded, open your Downloads folder/location of the downloaded file
  3. Double-click mb-support-X.X.X.XXXX.exe to run the program
    • You may be prompted by User Account Control (UAC) to allow changes to be made to your computer. Click Yes to consent.
  4. Place a checkmark next to Accept License Agreement and click Next
  5. You will be presented with a page stating, "Get Started!"
  6. Click the Advanced tab

  8. A progress bar will appear and the program will proceed with getting logs from your computer

And while we are at it...where is that post that Culee posted with downloading the software? I cannot find that post where different actions need to be done. Tried looking for it and cannot find it. It that what I have to do to see if my paid subscription is done? Thanks.

Greetings,

To monitor and check your license status please sign up for an account at My.Malwarebytes.com using the same email address you used for your original license purchase.  Instructions on signing up can be found in this support article.

As for the protection disabled issue, please do the following so that we may take a look at what is going on with your Malwarebytes installation and we should be able to offer assistance to get it working again:

  1. Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Gather Logs button, and once it completes, attach the zip file it creates on your desktop to your next reply

What was the error message that you received on My.Malwarebytes.com?

For the protection, it looks like McAfee installed some updates recently and the system needs a reboot so that might be the issue with Malwarebytes' protection.  Try restarting the system and see if protection is working properly after that.

If protection still isn't working after the reboot then please do the following:

  1. Run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Clean button, and allow it to restart your system and then reinstall Malwarebytes, either by allowing the tool to do so when it offers to on restart, or by downloading and installing the latest version from here

The error message I am getting states "your email and/or password is incorrect" and I used the password that I login this forum with?

However I went ahead and restarted the computer and apparently Malwarebytes is not showing "protection off" anymore. Yes I think McAfee installed some updates...I thought it would automatically reboot?

Anyway my Malware app opened and I am seeing under Account Details Oct 22, 2019. So I guess I am good until then. This is what I look towards to watch my subscription. 

I presume the website My.Malwarebytes.com website will allow me to update my subscription? Any reason why it would not work? Or di I need a different password?

OK, that explains it.  The My.Malwarebytes.com site/accounts aren't linked in any way to the forums here.  The forums are just for support, both for paying customers and free users so it isn't linked with the subscription/license management features of the My.Malwarebytes.com website so you need to select the option to create an account at My.Malwarebytes.com and as long as you use the same email address to sign up there that you used when you purchased your license it should automatically show your current license/subscription info and you can use it to monitor your subscription status, manage the devices where your license is installed (like if you need to deactivate a previous device/installation to move your license to a new system/installation) and to retrieve your license info if you lose it.
