Advanced Web Protection is the protection from previous betas, which uses a VPN configuration to block access to malicious websites. This blocks sites across the entire device, regardless of the app you're using. Apple required us to remove this feature from the app before they would approve it for the App Store, but we're still hoping to find a way to bring this technology to the App Store, and thus would like to continue testing it. Web Protection is the feature as released into the App Store, and is a Safari content blocker, so it works in Safari only, but it will not conflict with other VPNs that you might use.
