AdwCleaner Help

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm new to the Forum and Malewarebytes. I run AdwCleaner periodically and recently received notice of a detected threat PUP.Conduit.Heuristic. I tried Clean and Repair to remove it but the operation has failed on repeated tries.  Is this a valid dectection? Not sure what "heuristic" means in this context. Should I be concerned about inability to remove this "threat"?

Deep scans with Maleware Bytes, Windows Defender and Microsoft Safety Scanner are negative.

Clean Log File is below.

Thanks

Your logs are clean.

This could be a Syncing issue?
Are you Syncing Chrome with other devices.
To remove it you will have to reset the Sync in Chrome.

Read this article and proceed.

Chrome Secure Preferences detection always comes back

Restart the computer normally when completed.

Run the AdwCleaner and find out if the problem persists.

Hi nasdaq,

Thanks for the reply.  Glad the logs are clean. You are probably correct in that it could be a synching problem. While I use Firefox not Chrome as my browser, I do use it across three devices:

PC, iOS and Android. Though I do not recall specifically enabling synching, Firefox may default to that. I will read up on Firefox device synching/troubleshooting and go from there. Thanks again for your help.

Regards.
