Block popup happening on Chrome launch

Interesting. I have been trying to find out why MB is showing the blocked PUP screen when my wife first opens Google Chrome on her PC. The Google search page (http://www.google.com/) is her default page. Doesn't always do it. I have added the page to MB's Exclusions. Thought that took care of it a few weeks ago. But it has come back again. Have run scans with MB Premium and Norton Internet Security with nothing found. Cleared out cookies and temp internet files too. I use MB Premium on my PC, I use Chrome and have the Google Search page as my default page also, with not any issues. Any input of what the cause might be would be appreciated.

In your case it sounds as though there could be some kind of PUP toolbar, extension or add-on installed in Chrome and that could be the reason for the block.

You might try running a scan with ADWCleaner to see if it detects/removes anything as it targets some PUP items that Malwarebytes currently does not.

If the issue still persists then I'd recommend reading and following the instructions in this topic and then creating a new thread in the malware removal area containing the requested logs and information by clicking here and one of our malware removal specialists will assist you in checking and clearing the system of any remaining threats that might be present.
