Clarification of Exclusions needed running alongside Microsoft MSE

Following up on the post at the head of this forum about the exclusions recommended to be added to other security software running alongside Malwarebytes 3, I've done this for some time with the antivirus software I've used (currently content with MSE) and also included C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes and C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes folders for good measure.  However, I'd just like to make absolutely sure that I'm doing this correctly by adding these to the "Excluded files and locations" tab in MSE and shouldn't have anything added under the "Excluded file types" and "Excluded processes" tabs.

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained is safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

• Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST)
  1. Download FRST and save it to your desktop
     Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
  2. Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer
  3. Press the "Scan" button
  4. This will produce two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt
     • Leave the log files in the current location, they will be automatically collected by mb-check once you complete the next set of instructions
• MB-Check
  1. Download MB-Check and save to your desktop
  2. Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, press "Enter" to accept the EULA then click "OK" 
  3. This will produce one log file on your desktop: mb-check-results.zip
     • This file will include the FRST logs generated from the previous set of instructions
     • Attach this file to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the file to the attachment area

Hello and Welcome.

I exclude *.exe files as process in MSE and the other files under as Excluded Files and locations...

Excluding Files in Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE)

Here are instructions that I put together that will help you exclude the MB3 Files in MSE

1. Open MSE
2. Click On Settings
3. Click on Excluded processes
4. Click On Browse

5. Expand to the file locations and choose the file you want and click OK

6. Repeat for all other EXE files
7. Once you have added all EXE files, and they are listed in Process names: Then click on Add (they will move to the bottom)

8. Click on Save Changes

9. Click on YES to Allow changes (User Account Control)
10. For the files that end in .SYS use Exclude files and locations
11. Browse to the location for the *.sys files, Click OK
12. Follow the same procedures as with the *.exe files to add all sys files and then click Add followed by Save Changes
