Malwarebytes Web protection off + eating my RAM.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I woke up my desktop this morning and saw malwarebytes app eating 13 gigs from my 16 gigs of RAM.

Web protection was turned off. Reboot didn't helped to turn it on again.

I did clean re-install and now it seems to work fine ...

I'm very experienced with my OS and hardware and there is nothing wrong with it.

I don't use any antiviruses etc. instead of Defender and Malwarebytes. So nothing was blocking it etc.

Also I checked all the processes before I restarted PC and there was nothing strange running on.

Please patch it - this problem occurs since months for different Malwarebytes Users.

I'm having the same problems. Things taking forever, web protection is off, eating all resources (I'm typing this on another machine).

So far, all the responses are by the bot giving the same answer.

Still having issues despite attempting to get updates...Running 3803.  Rebooted a couple of times.  I click on enable the web protection and it says starting but never doeI am going to disable until this is fixed. See attached zip file from the suggested actions.

Guess I spoke too soon...Right after posting this, PC crashed and had to completely power down and cold start...My intention was to deactivate after start-up and reboot again, but upon checking the product dashboard everything appears nominal...Malwarebytes is no longer sucking of cycles and RAM until crash.

We're sorry you had issues with our program today. We've addressed the issue and here's what you need to do to fix it.

*** How to resolve / verify you have the fixed update package ***

  • Update package version 1.0.3803 (Malwarebytes 3) or v2018.01.27.12 (Malwarebytes 2.x) or higher contains the fix
  • To resolve, simply reboot your machine. In some cases, a second or even third reboot may be needed.
  • To verify you have this update, go to Settings ->  About -> Update package version: 1.0.3803
