Malwarebytes got uninstalled!

I wanted to do a Malwarebytes scan on my Windows 7 system but was not able to find the program in the Start Menu.  Nor was there a link to it on the desktop, as here had been. I reinstalled the latest version and seem to be ok now, but still. How could Malwarebytes allow itself to be uninstalled without telling me? That doesn't seem like a very secure thing to do.

Hello and Welcome!

By any chance, did you perform a program update when you received a notification?  There was a bug where MB3 would get uninstalled during an upgrade, and if you did not notice during this time then that explains why it was missing from your system.

Yes I did!  Thanks.  I'm assuming the 3.2 I just installed has fixed the bug?

By the way,  how do I know that an update nofication, supposedly from MB,  is really from them and not someone trying to get me to  install a version that let's everythihng through?

Glad that solved it your you... you can always open the MB3 GUI and it will tell you there is an update... or you can click on Settings -> Application -> Install Application Updates
