    Windows 7 Virus

Ron, Thank you but Kevin already picked this up and solved it.

    Windows 7 virus

Kevin, Here are the logs. Sophus took about 8 hours to get through my 2TB of disk files. After a pass it would report 1 or 2 problems, I'd clean them, restart the program, wait another 8 hours. . . . After three times it still reported one problem and I cleaned it. I checked my system then and it seems clean, so it looks like we caught what was causing what I was seeing. I need to use my computer, so I'll continue running Sophus each night until it gets all the way through without a problem. What do you think? Windows 7 virus

Hello Kevin, Thanks for jumping in. I already have Malwarebytes Premium running so I included the threat scan from it. malware_threat_12_14_17.txt FRST.txt Addition.txt
  5. My WINDOWS 7 has picked up a virus that replaces words in Word documents and in pages loaded by Chrome with links to ads. The system is also making frequent request for pages that then get flagged by Malwarebytes when they come in. I'm currently running Malwarebytes Premium 3.2. Thank you for any help.

    MB not preventing popups

Before you responded, above, I rebooted (didn't do a power off/on) and it came up clean as far as I can tell. I've been using it for about 8 hours and I haven't seen the popups. Do you still want me to run zoek again? Steve

Unable to stop zoek. Clicking X on its window or even attempting to kill it with Task Manmager, just opens a fresh window that says zoek is running and then that window fills with the log entries that were in the old window. So how do I stop zoek and run it again?

Actually, it doesn't look like zoek finished. It ran for 5 hours, but it never opened the results in notepad and Task Manager shows it's still running. So not sure what happened or what you're gong to find in the zoek-results. I'll let it run overnight, though I don't like leaving Malwarebyrtes disabled that long. Steve

Not sure how to disable current antivirus. The only antivirus icon in my system tray is Malwarbytes. How do I disable that? Steve

  14. I'm running the premium MB3 and after a scan it says "Awesome! No threates detected" but every minute, or less, a screen from piet2eix3l.com tries to pop up in my Chrome browser. MB usually catches ant pops up it's own screen (see attached MB2). How can I keep piet2eix3l.com from sending these popups and how can I keep MB2 from popping up its own screen everytime one come in? Thanks Steve
