If you're still having the constantly checking for updates issue, try exiting Malwarebytes via the "Quit" option in the tray icon's right-click context menu, delete the folder "C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes", then reinstall the program and check for updates.  That should resolve it as it is caused by a corrupted configuration file.  Also note that once you do this you'll have to change any settings again which you'd previously modified/customized if you weren't using all of the default settings.

edit: If you're referring to one of the other known issues then yes, some of them do still exist, though we have been pushing out service updates/patches to fix them as quickly as we can while others are still being worked on.
