Ransomeware twice this week...

Am using Chrome. This is info: ZEUS-44-xyz

Am using Malwarebytes Home Premium 2.2.1.1043

I ran MWB but no indication that it found anything. Am also Using Avast Internet Security

I had to re-install chrome. Deleted cache.

Not sure what's going on here.

Any advice? Thank you.

When using Google Chrome, a new Tab appears indicating not to shut down, but to phone a number. I did not record the number. I did record the following:

    ZEUS-44-xyz

I had to shut down via the Task Manager. When re-started, the computer acted normally until Chrome was started. Then had to shutdown via the Task Manager again.

I started the computer again, ran Malwarebytes, and Avast. Chrome would not open, so I reinstalled Chrome, deleted the Cache. Seems to be working okay now.

Malwarebytes and Avast did not report that they found any virus or malware.

Yes, this seems to be webpage scam. They are present everywhere. I suggest to empty your browser cache and whole browsing history and to install Adblock extension.
