TrojanClicker:JS/Chroject.A (Help Greatly Appreciated)

Recommended Posts

I'm having trouble removing "TrojanClicker:JS/Chroject.A" from my pc. Microsoft Security Essentials constantly detects it, but as soon as it is removed, it comes back. I'm pretty much a computer noob, so I'm relying on the intellect and generousity of this forum to help me fix my pc. Thank you for helping!

I've already ran Malwarebytes anti-malware and quarintined threats. I apologize for taking action on my own, but I just found this forum after realizing that the TrojanClicker:JS/Croject.A is still on my PC. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. I ran FRST and will attach the files. Thank you again for helping.

Thank you for the help so far, Adam. You may call address me by Wilson if you wish.

I'm still on step one. I copied the fixlist.txt file as you said and it is located in a folder on the desktop along with FRST64.exe. I ran the program as admin and clicked fix. Is it supposed to take a long time? It's been running for approximately 20 minutes now and a log has not yet popped up. Ever since the pc became infected, some programs grind to a halt. That could be what's happening.

Hello Wilson,

Those logs are looking much better.
But the Script did not complete.

Please run this. There's more than likely malware hiding in your AppData folder, and we need to find it. Allow this to run for as long as it needs.

xlK5Hdb.png Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) Script

  • Press the Windows Key pdKOQKY.png + r on your keyboard at the same time. Type Notepad and click OK.
  • Copy the entire contents of the codebox below and paste into the Notepad document.
    startFolder: C:\Users\Admin\AppDataend
  • Click FileSave As and type fixlist.txt as the File Name
  • Important: The file must be saved in the same location as FRST64.exe.

NOTICE: This script is intended for use on this particular machine. Do not use this script on any other machine; doing so may cause damage to your Operating System.

  • Right-Click FRST64.exe and select AVOiBNU.jpg Run as administrator to run the programme.
  • Click Fix.
  • A log (Fixlog.txt) will open on your desktop. This log will be very large. Ensure you attach the file in your next reply.

I just ran FarBar after deleting the old fixlist.txt and creating the new one that you instructed. It ran for over an hour and it opened fixlog.txt when it finished. The entire content of the fixlog.txt is:

==== End of Fixlog ====

That's it. No other text. I reread your instructions and I'm pretty sure I've done everything correctly.

Thank you very much for all your help, Adam!

I couldn't have done all that without you. I didn't realize where you were from until I sent a donation. Sorry I don't have a lot of cash to spare. I'm not sure what beer costs over there, but you could buy a case over here with that. Hopefully that will buy a decent amount of booze on your side of the pond : )

Thank you again for all your help.

Sincerely,

Wilson

You're more than welcome, Wilson. It's my pleasure.

I didn't realize where you were from until I sent a donation. Sorry I don't have a lot of cash to spare.

Thank you very much. :)
Ultimately, I do this because I enjoy helping others and fighting malware. Any donations are an added bonus, and appreciated regardless.

I will mark this topic as solved.

All the best,
Adam
