Scan single file

Recommended Posts

Tried to figure out how to scan a single file, e.g. I downloaded the file in my downloadfolder

that contains a lot of subfolders and stuff.

I wanted to have the file scan but had no alternative but to scan the download folder.

Scan Type: Custom Scan
Result Completed
Objects Scanned: 277401
Time Elapsed: 10 min, 19 sec
Processes: 0 Modules: 0 Registry Keys: 0 Registry Values: 0 Registry Data: 0 Folders: 0 Files: 0

(this for scanning 1 file)

Only workaround to create a separate subfolder put the file in it and have that one scanned

but more likely I may be overlooking something.

Hi:

Contextual scanning is disabled by default in version 2.

To enable it, just open the GUI > Settings > General Settings > click the "Yes" for "Explorer Context Menu Entry". Done.

P.S. To minimize forum clutter, mwb62, rather than starting numerous separate topics, perhaps you might consider consolidating your many questions into 1 post, perhaps with a numbered list of items?  <just a thought>  Thanks!

Hi,

I have the same problems. I have enables context menu (in fact it already was) but when the mbam controls come up they just give me the standard options, no context based scan on what I right clicked on is started, this seems a major step backwards from the previous versions of malbytes I have used. Is it possible to download an earlier version of the programme which still has this feature working? PS I use win7. Thanks.

Hello chrisgoeslive and :welcome:

We are disappointed to read your system is having issues. Each computer is unique. Problems that seem "the same" most often are not.

The same is true for solutions. They most often need to be individualized.

It is less confusing for everyone if we adhere to the "one user per topic" sub-forum policy.

Please start a NEW, SEPARATE topic using this >>cjfj.png<< button.

Staffers, experts and helpers will be able to more easily provide both you, and the OP/Topic Starter, with individualized assistance to get you both up and running.

Thank you always for your patience and understanding. :)
