explorer.exe+MBAM freezing

Hello, about a month ago or two I got an "antivirus program" malware that was quite, well, malicious, leaving me unable to download any programs or right click in windows explorer to delete any files, as well as keeping my printer from printing. I think it was the Windows Antivirus 2012/ZeroAccess trojan.

well, a family member went in and got rid of the actual viruses(nothing showing up on norton or spybot), but ever since we've still been unable to download, right click in explorer, or print. Yesterday I decided to take a look myself and after some online searching fixed the registry value that was keeping me from downloading files.

Right now I'm trying to use MBAM to fix the other problems, and found 30-some infected files and folders. Alas, every time I click on remove, it freezes up! after restarting, I think the program deleted about 20 of them, because I was only getting 12, but it still freezes and I think it's one of these files that's causing it.

Right now, I'm in the middle of following and doing everything in this thread: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=104526 and i'm trying Chameleon. Since this isn't the exact problem i'm having, should I stick to this thread or do you guys have any ideas?

I'm using MS Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit SP2, with an AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-62, 2.0 GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G, if that helps.

Thanks so much! If i need to supply any more information, i'll do my best.

Hello and post-32477-1261866970.gif

P2P/Piracy Warning:

If you're using Peer 2 Peer software such as uTorrent, BitTorrent or similar you must either fully uninstall them or completely disable them from running while being assisted here.

Failure to remove or disable such software will result in your topic being closed and no further assistance being provided.

If you have illegal/cracked software, cracks, keygens etc. on the system, please remove or uninstall them now and read the policy on Piracy.

Leave Malwarebytes alone for now, run the following:

Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system (32 bit or 64 bit). If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
