Please follow the steps below

STEP 1

Please temporarily uninstall your McAfee antivirus. Please make sure you have your registration information so that you can reinstall it later on.

To fully remove McAfee from your computer please do the following.

Go to Control Panel/Programs/Uninstall a Program and remove it there and reboot when requested.

Next download and run the MCPR.exe tool which will manually remove left over elements of the program that the uninstaller missed.

A. Download the MCPR.exe removal tool from McAfee Support

B. Click Save, and save the file to a folder on your computer.

C. Navigate to the folder where the file was saved.

D. Ensure that all McAfee windows are closed.

E. Double-click MCPR.exe to run the removal tool.

NOTE: Windows Vista/7 users must right-click MCPR.exe and select Run as Administrator.

F. Restart your computer after receiving the message CleanUp Successful.

Your McAfee product will not be fully removed until the system is restarted.

STEP 2

So that you're not without an antivirus please temporarily install Microsoft Security Essentials

This is a free antivirus and designed to be simple to install and easy to use.

It runs quietly and efficiently in the background so you don't have to worry about interruptions or making updates.

STEP 3

Please download the adwCleaner

• Right click on the adwCleaner.exe program and select the option "Run as administrator"
  
• Select the SEARCH button and click on it.
  
• When the scan completes it will open the log file for you to view. You can close it.
  
• This log file is saved in the root (top) of the C: drive with a name like AdwCleaner[R1].txt
  
• Please attach that log on your next reply.

STEP 4

Please download Security Check from one of the links below.

SecurityCheck.exe (mirror 1)

or

SecurityCheck.exe (mirror 2)

Save it to your Desktop.

Right click on SecurityCheck.exe and choosr Run as administrator and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.

A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt

STEP 5

Please try to start Malwarebytes and check for updates and then do a Quick Scan and send me back that log file on your next reply.

when i tried to run mbam i get error 193 while installing then runtime error 0 and runtime error 440. here are the logs from the scans. from running those so far it has sped up my internet speed but i still cant install mbamcheckup.txtAdwCleanerR2.txtlog.txt
