MB Pro Dual Boot license

Recommended Posts

Hello, new user here.

I recently purchased MB Pro from Newegg, so I have the "Boxed/CD" version (Personal Use).

On the MB Box it says "License valid for 1 PC".

I have a dual boot PC with Win7-32 bit and Win7-64 bit.

Can I legally install the same MB license on both of these OSs (same PC)?

You have a great forum and product...

Thanks, David

Thanks for the welcome, and awesome answer!

Now, a 2nd question.

I have another PC (Test/Backup).

If I install/register MB Pro on my "Test" PC, can I later uninstall it, and then legally give the license/ownership to someone else?

This would be a new/different MB license than the one I use on my MAIN PC.

I would be giving it to a Family/Friend, that I feel needs it more than me.

ty, David

The answer to that question is also YES (we call it a transfer). You can install Malwarebytes on ONE computer. If later your replace that computer or decide you no longer need it on the computer, you simply uninstall it from one computer using our mbam-clean tool, and thin install it on the other computer and register it on that one. The steps below is what you would do, except the re-install would be done on the new/other computer.

Please do the following:

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here

    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.
