  1. Thank you for looking into it; - Tony D
  2. I've been using the Magical Jelly Bean key finder for years. I went to the site today and found MalwareBytes Browser Guard blocks it due to a Trojan. Can you please verify this site is malicious? https://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ Thank you
  3. Again, thanks for the speedy reply and thank you for volunteering to answer these questions.
  4. Thanks for the speedy reply. I will have to fire up the old machine to do that. I'm replacing the old machine because it was still running XP. Besides I think the hard drive is failing. What happen in the event the hard drive fails and you're unable to deactivate the license on the old machine?
  5. I have a lifetime license that I want to move to my new computer. I've downloaded MBAM trial to the new machine. I went to activate my old license on the new machine. I entered my ID and Key. The activate button remained greyed out. Do I have to uninstall MBAM from my old machine first?
  6. OK thanks, Yes, I have a computer repair business. It's a small business, but I've sold about 100 licenses.
  7. Thanks for the quick response. This machine (which is the one I use everyday) did have MBAM version 1 previously installed. It was upgraded to ver 2 via the normal update process. The OS hasn't been reinstalled. I do have the license written down and the identifier agrees with what pops up in the MBAM "My Account" window. So I'm fairly comfortable that I have the correct license info. I've had to reinstall MBAM a number of times (on other computers) in the past few months for my customers when it was having problems updating. I like to export the registry key as both .reg and .txt files before doing a re-install. I consider this my safety net in case I mistake a 1 for an L or an 8 for a B, etc. I don't run reg cleaners. The only reason I can think of for the registry info to be missing is that one of the MBAM updates wiped it out. btw: the tool didn't find the license:
  8. I wanted to remove MBAM from my XP machine. Before doing so, I wanted to verify I had the proper key written down for when I want to re-install it. This machine has ver 2.0.3.1025 Pro. It originally had MBAM 1 so the key should be in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware as stated in the pined post at https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/146017-mbam-clean-removal-process-2x/. The license info is not there. The only entries there are (Default) and ScanReboot. I’ve been able to pull licenses from other machines that were originally ver 1, and have been upgraded to ver 2. Somewhere along the line, the registry entries for my license info were deleted. What’s going on here?
  9. Thanks for the quick response, I'll update the db. I had set an exception. I'll remove that once MBAM is updated. Tony
  10. This morning MBAM is detecting my TeamViewer Service as trojan.psuedo.tmvwr. I uploaded the file to VirusTotal and they say it's clean. I've attached the scan and rar files Tony MBAM scan 2014_10_31 Teamviewer.txt TeamViewer_Service.rar
  11. Thanks for the reply, Yes - on the W7 machine, I installed the beta that was sent to me at the time. On the XP machine, my customer purchased MBAM from the web site. At this point, I don't want to have to go back to this customer's office for another day or so as I have other customers to attend to. So I can wait for Ron's reply. Please note, I found that restarting each of the two machines resolved the issue. For how long .... I don't know yet.
  12. Here are the logs from the XP machine. FRST.txt Addition.txt MBAM CheckResults.txt
  13. I apologize for sending the rtf file instead of the jpgs. Here are the logs from the W7 machine. FRST.txt Addition.txt MBAM CheckResults.txt
  14. Hope I'm not replying when I shouldn't. I ran into the same issue. Things cleared out when I restarted the computer.
  15. One more thing. I took some screen shots. See the attached file. MBAM update issue.rtf
  16. Hi, I have some more information on this. I was called back to my customer's office because MBAM was still not updating. This was after I ran the MBAM Clean and reinstalled the Consumer beta as suggested. A message comes up in the bottom right corner saying it needs to be updated. You really can't get rid of the message. On the MBAM Dashboard, the Update now is disabled (grayed out). Update now was also disabled in the SysTray. I noted, in the MBAM log, that the last time MBAM started was May 10. That was also the time of the last database update (2014.05.10.03). That was probably the last time the computer was restarted. So I restarted the computer and MBAM updated as it should. This was a Windows 7 machine. Now, in the back office on the XP machine, I was seeing the same issue. MBAM wouldn't update. Again, I noted the date of the last update and also noted that same date was the last time MBAM was started. I restarted the machine and it was good. Bottom line here is that for some reason, if the machine isn't rebooted occasionally, MBAM won't update.
  17. I can retrieve Windows, Office, etc keys. The problem is that they're in some weird base 20 or something format and some digits are not used. You can use a key finder program to sort out the keys. Maybe that will work with the new MBAM also.
  18. OK, Thank you. I understand now about the license. I'm a tech and this post is for one of my customer's computers. I can't do the re-install right now. Hope to get over there by Wednesday. I understand where the v1 license is stored in the registry and have had to retrieve it before when doing wipe/load. I know this is off-topic, but with v2, is there any way to recover the license? If a machine comes in here and requires a wipe/load, can a tech retrieve the license for v2? I think the link you sent said that the license can't be recovered. I just wanted to check. Thank you, td
  19. Thank you, Before proceeding, I have a question. The link you sent says I have to uninstall MBAM and then reinstall it. When I download the latest version, I assume it will download v2. My license is for v1. Will the v2 download recognize my v1 license? If so, am I still grandfathered in with the lifetime v1 license or does it switch to the $25/yr subscription? Thank you
  20. Running MBAM Pro v2 on a Windows 7 machine. It was originally v1. It hasn't updated the database since Apr 18. There's a pop-up in the bottom right corner of the screen. Click to update, nothing happen. I start the scanner and try to update from the Fix Now button. Nothing happens. It's been working fine for that last few months. Do I have to uninstall MBAM and then reinstall it? Maybe there's a cache file or something I can delete instead. If I delete MBAM how would I reinstall it? I have the v1 license. Thanks, td
  21. How about printing the licenses in lower case. It would help distinguish o from 0 and i from 1. It would help distinguish 8 from B For instance: LI00-OOPI1-8B would look like li00-oopi1-8b just a thought.
  22. Thanks. I disabled - malicious website blocking and - Start malicious website blocking when protection module starts. The machine seems to be working properly now. Note: The machine had Avast free AV which included WebRep. Just mentioning WebRep because I think it does the same thing as MBAM's website blocking. Maybe there's a conflict?
  23. Hello Advaned Setup. I've installed (and sold) MBAM on many PC's. This week I reformatted/loaded an XP Home machine. It was working fine until I installed MBAM. It takes a long time to fully boot. The desktop will come up, icons will load, but I can't do anything for a few minutes. I uninstalled MBAM and it's fine. I've never seen MBAM hang a machine like this before. That's why I came here looking for an answer. I felt some comfort in seeing that I'm not alone. Good luck with finding a fix. This is an XP Home on a Dell with P4@3 GHz with 2.5 GB RAM. I'm going to reload another machine today because the hard drive died. I'll see how MBAM performs on that. Let me know if I should start a new thread. Thanks,
  24. I have moved the file (C:\Windows\Paltalk Messenger\uninstall.exe) to the Quarantine. Is it safe to restore it? I don't know why this file would start all by itself.
