  1. I see your point...to an extent.

Also I do not see anywhere that both products are bundled? The products are sold separately and independent of one another.

This (below) is the exact offering that is stated by the Chica site, and is not my made up opinion, with my bolding added to highlight some of their errors, in just the MBAM version !!
    Our Promise:

We are 100% confident that ChicaPC-Shield™ will clean and protect you from malware, that we are willing to offer you a full refund if you are not completely satisfied within 30 days of purchase!

If malware (PC infection) is found using the free one time download, your current anti-virus is not effective.

We all know that MBAM is the greatest program around, and has been for many years, but this from Chica says only your current Antivirus is to blame / not effective if infected ??

The refund part is offered by many companies (even here) but Never the 100% guarantee without any Antivirus, and other precautions used as support for prevention of most infections.

Marcin has said he can run with only MBAM (from interview), but all the rest of us use other protection always.

Ask any established member if this is true, and even our Marketing area should know this is False Advertising !!

MBAM is not an Antivirus program, and has never claimed to be one. Our Malware Removal area would not exist if all these types of claims were even remotely true !!

This is the type of advertising that is used by all the scam programs, and never by a reputable company like MBAM.

We can claim to be the best at what we do, but this is like asking me to be a Dentist - I'm a builder -

I do some minor malware removal at other forums (where I am allowed) and MBAM is a main part of the removal process, that includes several other programs, as you should know.

    Thank You -

  2. We felt it was a great idea to hit a new market which is why they have a rebranded or white label version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

    Hi Rebecca -

This is not the point of the discussion currently. If UniBlue or ReviverSoft or any of the many similar Registry Cleaner sites had put the idea forward first, would the same decision be made, or did they add the Registry Cleaner later, without discussion ??

We are pointing out that the suite offered is not just Rebranded MBAM, but includes a rebranded ? Uniblue style program.

Malwarebytes seems to have no control over the content of ChicaPC-Fix site by just giving them a blank sheet on use of MBAM program, and should have made a point of knowing about this add-on or Chica should have told MBAM first.

(I know) - Stupid extra line to add to the finish of the discussion, but it must be asked as MBAM supports the other site -

Are we to see a "reversed program swap" to have a Registry Cleaner on this site, just to chase another market ??

    Regards -

  3. Quote D.S.K. =

Yes it is not Malwarebytes' related, but we also promote these products to be avoided like the plague. Kind of a double standard really.

It is the MBAM Database Renamed as ......... See below for current update ..............

Nice to see what programs Marcin promotes .................

    ChicaPC-Fix™

Get your PC running like “new” with a safe and easy-to-use system cleaner and performance optimizer.

Extend the life of your PC, saving you time and money in the long run!

The free version of ChicaPC-fix™ scans for “problem areas” on your PC.

Get a free PC health scan and first 25 errors fixed for free.

ChicaPC-Fix™ speeds up a slow computer for improved performance and …
Extends the life of your PC - How ?? - Do you get a Free Hard Drive and extra RAM ??

Helps avoid a computer crash - How ?? Extra Bumper Bars around the computer ??

Fix and cleans computer errors - How will it know it is an error, and not just a Normal program I use ?? - NEVER -

Fast, safe and extremely easy-to-use software - How safe is a can of Snake Oil ??

All Crap, but fully tied into MBAM program (including the Datbase)

In other words another UNIBLUE Registry Cleaner and nothing more !!! Except they have MBAM as part of the suite

Free advice to TonyKlein and Marcin - Always be careful of promoting or linking yourself to these programs.

Marcin - "It is an anti-malware only designed for ChicaLogic".
And who backs the Registry Cleaner program, you or ReviverSoft. or UniBlue or ...... ??

  4. I don't see how I'm going to be able to backup anything, or re-install Windows without a working mouse. And I don't think the virus has caused my mouse not to work, considering it was working right before I re-installed the service pack.

My issue is on my desk top, so I'm using a plug in mouse in a USB port. And I just rebooted into safe mode, and the mouse still won't work.

My reply was based on your lack of options to have a mouse working, but if you now have a mouse that works please PM Jeff again.

I just saw that you did - Exactly what is it that you now need since you have a working mouse ??

I don't see how I'm going to be able to backup anything, or re-install Windows without a working mouse. And I don't think the virus has caused my mouse not to work, considering it was working right before I re-installed the service pack.

You can carry on saving to an External Drive etc now that you have a Working Mouse to Drag and Drop, which is what you listed your problem as -

Jeff is the Malware Removal expert, and that part of the problem need to be dealt with in that forum only.

This was to help you use a mouse only -

I provided you with a Touch Screen mouse as an option - As you asked -

  5. ..... so a new system running 7 had higher specifications typically than one which was sold with Vista on it...

This is where M/soft sent Vista out much too early - XP SP 4 was required first and major machine upgrades were needed.

XP could run on half a G RAM (but most upgraded), while they were the last version that could (in comfort) -

Most Win7 computers have at least 4G RAM (Vista was still released on 1G RAM units) and this was another major failure point.

Timing was only part of it, a lack of practical ideas were missing, and they (Microsoft) thought any O/S would succeed.

I keep finding this was a major part of the problem, and I relate it to Vista / Microsoft Developers -

What is actually needed to run Windows8 ??

  6. I love this one - She needs to be promoted up 2 classes just for working it out -

    SCHOOL

A little girl had just finished her first week of school.

'I'm just wasting my time,' she said to her mother. 'I can't read, I can't write, and they won’t let me talk!':P

    Blonde Murder Victim

    -------------------------

WANTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER >>(the actual AP headline)

Linda Burnett, 23, a resident of San Diego, was visiting her inlaws, and while there went to a nearby supermarket to pick up some groceries.

Several people noticed her sitting in her car with the windows rolled up and with her eyes closed, with both hands behind the back of her head.

One customer who had been at the store for a while became concerned and walked over to the car.

He noticed that Linda's eyes were now open, and she looked very strange.

He asked her if she was okay, and Linda replied that she'd been shot in the back of the head, and had been holding her brains in for over an hour.

The man called the paramedics, who broke into the car because the doors were locked and Linda refused to remove her hands from her head.

When they finally got in, they found that Linda had a wad of bread dough on the back of her head.

A Pillsbury biscuit canister had exploded from the heat, making a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot, and the wad of dough hit her in the back of her head.

When she reached back to find out what it was, she felt the dough and thought it was her brains.

She initially passed out, but quickly recovered and tried to hold her brains in for over an hour until someone noticed and

    came to her aid.

And, yes, Linda is a "blonde".

  9. Hi Again -

1/ You would notice that one program is not functioning correctly, or other problems - Any problem would be quite obvious.

The Development Team could then advise you on any simple steps to take to repair any conflict -

You can read the FAQs HERE on many steps that were required mostly on earlier versions. Almost all of these problems do not exist with the current version, as most current updated users will now agree with :)

2/ It is advised to Disable (not remove) your Antivirus program while installing Malwarebytes Anti-Malware just for a clean, full install.

You would not at any time Remove your Antivirus program, just Temporary Disable it for about 5 minutes - Advice can be given.

This is not unusual with many programs, and I am sure you must have seen this advised at other times, with other programs.

    Thank You -

  10. Hello and Welcome -

You are not the first person that is not happy with the current version of AVG (there are quite a few) - Even Microsofts MVPs have downgraded the latest version of AVG due to the recent changes. The free versions of a few programs are even more suitable today -

I can't tell you which one is the best because determining that is generally not feasible; however, I can give you my strong recommendations for programs that I have tested and that I trust. All of the following are excellent free (not free trials of) antiviruses.

Be sure to only install one.

Microsoft Security Essentials (what I currently use)

    Avira AntiVir

    avast!

If you prefer only paid versions then, ESET / Kaspersky / Comodo, and even the latest paid version of Norton, now seem to all excede the once very good AVG program, in performance and detection -

Just my personal recent findings and opinions -

    Thank You -

Extra - If you do choose to remove AVG, be sure to visit their site and use the correct Uninstaller program -

  11. Pretty awesome. Tons I didn't recognize.

    @ Chris -

Just slowly move your mouse pointer over the red line at the bottom and you can almost pick them 1 at a time

I found that I could go back and pick more than I actually saw in the moving clip -

Plus I'm older than you, so there may be a few you don't recognose :P

  12. Hi -

Over 90% of antivirus programs are regurlarly tested with the program at each major update.

I am not sure if the Full Paid version of DrWeb has been tested yet, since it is rarely used.

From my own personal scans with DrWeb CureIt, I have never had any problems / conflicts between the 2 programs.

An Admin or Company tester may have a more detailed reply, but I think it should be OK -

    Thank You -

  13. @ sho-dan - You can pause them after every 5 or 10 and re-view at any point.

Fast and Flashy enough to trip out most epileptics :P

I recalled well over 90% of those movies, from funny, to gangster, to sci-fi, romance, Bogart, "You can't handle the truth", etc, etc -

  14. Where do I go to download a client if I choose to switch computers after that 1 month period?

http://forums.malwar...indpost&p=49525 << From the FAQ section.

Scroll down to Issue 16 - ISSUE: I'm changing computers. How do I Transfer my License to the new computer?

You can download this to any computer that you wish to install Malwarebytes Pro on, and change it later -

Just keep or print out the email with your ID and Key numbers so they are not lost -

    Thank You -

A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest.

After a moment or two, the vet shook his head and sadly said, "I'm sorry, your duck, Cuddles, has passed away."

The distressed woman wailed, "Are you sure?"

"Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead," replied the vet..

"How can you be so sure?" she protested. "I mean you haven't done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something."

The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room.

He returned a few minutes later with a Labrador Retriever.

As the duck's owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom.

He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head.

The vet patted the dog on the head and took it out of the room. A few minutes later he returned with a cat.

The cat jumped on the table and also delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot.

The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room.

The vet looked at the woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck."

The vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman..

The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "$150!" she cried, "$150 just to tell me my duck is dead!"

    <

    <

    <

Are you sure you want to read this :excl:

The vet shrugged, "I'm sorry. If you had just taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20.

But with the "Lab" Report and the "Cat" Scan, it's now $150." :excl:
