Interesting idea. I leave Windows Defender running on my 8 and 10 computers. Should I run MBP by itself?

Same here. mb3-setup-consumer-3.0.6.1469-1075. Web protection off.

syrob Sounded like a good idea, but it didn't work on a Toshiba laptop running Windows 10. First install of MBP Trial had the web protection error we are familiar with. Downloaded and ran MBAM Clean and reinstalled. Problem continued. Was going to try: Under Settings -> Protection, turn on "Enable self-protection module early start". Then reboot and see if your protection module starts up If that doesn't work, under Settings -> Protection, turn off the option for "Enable self-protection module". Then reboot and see if your protection module starts up but I'm unable to move either control. First time I've seen that happen. Anyone else have an idea?

What's the best way to get the data that hasn't been encrypted? Any idea why it failed to encrypt every file. In my past experience all the files were encrypted. Any chance of further problems. Barbara has no idea how this happened. She has opened PDF attachments this week, but nothing else. Aura, thanks for all of your assistance!

File uploaded. No, the flash drive is never in another computer.

Here's a screen shot of the scan. I haven't quarantined yet. Not worried about the flash drive data. Just surprised that the data on the hard drive wasn't encrypted.

This is a different computer. There is no backup of the data.
