  1. Hi Daledoc1.  You wrote:

If you did cancel auto-renewal, then you will need to renew manually.

Can you explain the above manual procedure in detail?  Do I have to use the MBAM clean tool to do that and the instructions that go with it?  Then to an install from scratch?

BTW, If I would have known what there is involved in setting up MBAM Premium anew, I would not have

cancelled the renewal.   Did it for very personal health reasons.

Looking forward to your reply and thank you.

  2. Thank you daledoc1.  Lots to think about until it's time for renewal.  One additional question please.

Do we have to renew our annual subscription ourselves or does cleverbridge/MBAM issue automatic yearly renewals and therefore being billed automatically on a yearly basis or do we have to renew every year via the GUI?   I used MBAM free for YEARS and decided last year to go to Premium so don't know what exactly will happen at the end of a yearly subscription.

    Thanks again.

  3. Currently I have 20 days left of MBAM Premium which covers 3 PCs.  I cancelled the automatic renewal shortly after purchasing same as I prefer to enroll on a yearly basis.  I do have only 1 PC and don't forsee adding any additional PC.

I know that MBAM has changed its coverage etc.

Now what do I have to do to renew my (yearly) subscription?

There are 3 boxes which show: Renew - Deactivate - Change license.  Which one should be used to have only 1 PC covered for 1 year?  Or do I have to delete the current MBAM Premium in 20 days and sign up as a new customer?  Below excerpt doesn't really apply to me as I cancelled the renewal already quite some time ago.

I currently have a subscription under the 1year/3PC model, how am I affected?

Current subscribers will have their subscriptions grandfathered in to the new model, and are not affected by this change. Customers can continue to use their subscription for up to 3 PCs without being charged under this new pricing model. This new change only affects new purchases.

Here is hoping that I explained it clearly enough in order for you to guide me what needs to be done to have only 1 coverage for 1 PC.

    Thank you.

  4. The first one shows that you updated from 2015.5.29.7 to 2015.5.30.3.

The second one shows that you updated from 2015.5.30.3 to 2015.5.30.4.

    They're both very clear.

OK gonzo, now I understand why I am seeing 2 of the same updates as the second one is *FROM*.  Thank you very much!   English is my third language so sometimes I am struggling with it in understanding everything clearly and am in my seventies so that doesn't help much either.

    Solved!

  5. OK daledoc1.  I will leave it that and will do a manual update immediately after booting the computer.  Thank you very much for your explanantion saying that all is well, even as updates are posted as duplicates or seemingly missing.  The May 30 updates show quite cleary the duplicates though as are the others.

Thank you very much for your explanations.

  6. Some updates seems to be missing/skipping and others seem to be duplicating from what I can see.  I have set to update its database once per hour.  Also I turn the PC off when not in use.  I've enclosed some protection logs so that you can see what is happening.

What could be the problem if there is one and what can be done to it to correct if the updates are not working correctly?  Attached some protection logs so you can advise me what to do.  Thanks for looking at the logs.

  7. Thank you for responding so fast 1PW!

What I did was creating a manual restore point and deleted the previous one I had.  That previous restore point was made when I uninstalled Auslogics Defrag.  Now the new restore point is of a manageble size 563.98 MB instead of the 21.5 GB for the one restore point and growing by the minute!  Will keep an eye on it for the next days if it will grow out of bounds.

Great to know that I don't have to uninstall MBAM Premium if in the end I have to do a restore with Macrium Reflect.  Yes, I do have the email and a printout of the ID and Key.  Thanks again.

  8. Due to system restore points problems which is increasing in size (now 20.25GB) while only having one restore point I am thinking about having to do a restore with Macrium Reflect.   (Virus in system restore?)

Do I have to remove MBAM Premium prior to doing a restore with Reflect and reinstall it after the restore?  The last image I have has the date April 27.

    Please let me know.

  9. For those of you that have been around a while you may remember iObit stealing our database years ago. Seems we have a new player with the same game. Please read more about it on our Blog posting below.

Yet Another Cleaner, Yet Another Stealer

Is there anything that MBAM can do, sue them or whatever?  I vividly remember something similar going on with Iobit in 2009.  It was discussed at great length at MajorGeeks' forum. That's the reason I have not and will never install any software by Iobit.  And now this one.  YUCK!!

  10. Scheduler:  Sounds good.  Like I say, you can schedule for a day/time sooner (even later today), just to see if it's working OK.  But if you want to monitor the situation for a day or so, that's good.  Keep us posted -- we can collect some logs and/or have you do a clean reinstall, if the need arises.

Just now my weekly scan was done, rebooted after to make sure the settings would be okay.  They are and also checked the date on the dashboard, is now showing as next scheduled scan as 01/04/2015 7:00PM and automatic scheduling (repeats once every 1 week(s)) is there and ALL work perfectly!!  GREAT JOB MBAM!  Thanks!!
  11. Thank you daledoc1 and becky.  I will be looking forward to the changes to come.  Although I don't use that advanced screen that much it would be a pleasure to have it function properly in the (near?) future.

daledoc1, I read the entire link that you posted and found there (after my *discovery*) that one can pull up the advanced screen.

I like the new design a lot, looks classy now, reminds me a bit of the classy 1.75 UI

  12. Thanks so much daledoc1.  I use NoSquint as well in Fx.  Here's a pic of what I see when going into advanced.  I discovered that I can *pull up* that advanced screen.  :)   I also tried to go 100% display and I still couldn't see the bottom of the advanced but could also pull up that advanced screen.  At least that is solved for now until there will be changes made by the MBAM gurus.  Perhaps not everyone knows that the advanced screen can be moved upward.

  13. Thanks daledoc.

I changed automated schedule for a threat scan to coming wednesday at 7 pm and the time on the dashboard changed to the same date.  I restarted the PC and the settings didn't change so it seems to be going ok for now.

There is one additional problem which I never discussed before.  With the previous version I just saw a half OK when editing and by going to advanced but that still did go okay.

Now in the new version when editing in automatic scheduling and clicking on the advanced button, I don't see the OK button button at all anymore.  Could be that my display of this PC is at 125% instead of 100% but need to enlarge due to my old eyes, so I can't change anything in the advanced option.
