  1. Also if FX is not closed, and I assume Opera & Chrome as well.
  2. Okay Thanks. The link you posted though (and I'm pretty sure you've posted it at least several times before too on the forum here) should be run on any machine one is giving away/selling or disposing of?
  3. I close all but my security software (and sometimes my IM client) when I run CCleaner, and typically only run it prior to shutdown. I also use the Gutmann 35 passes. @Ron So the Gutmann pass in CCleaner doesn't really do anything, then?
  4. Here you go Exile Just so you know what I did, I deleted rules.ref after creating the attached zip folder, and re-downloaded the database when prompted, so as not to be w/o my Mbam protection for very long
  5. woohoo!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! :D
  6. I just skimmed through your topic, so I apologize if I am being redundant, BUT, If you still need your product key, Speccy by Piriform can retrieve that for you http://www.piriform.com/speccy
  7. Thank you so much Bruce! I had a small hunch it was a FP but wanted to check here first. I am glad that I did. Thanks again, you guys are great
  8. YES!!!! I did the regular right-click, send to compressed (zipped) folder and this time it saved in WinRAR format and allowed me to attach
  9. Okay I downloaded 7zip and I chose add to archive and nothing happened, at least not that I can tell. Back in a bit...
  10. Just to add to what tetonbob said (image attached). Special thanks to GT500 for this image
  11. Yep, off topic. It's my brother's game, this is not my machine, I don't play it, I don't know how, least not yet. Anyway, Bruce and Tom, I guess I don't know what to do, either that or I can't use it coz it was installed about a year ago. Also got an error message when I chose "add to archive"
  12. Thanks Tom. Using that'll allow me to attach the file? I'll try WinRar first, although I've used it before on this computer quite a while back, so I don't know if i can use it again. Otherwise I'll try WinZip.
  13. Only option I get is (see attached)
  14. Bruce, I zipped it into a folder but I can't seem to attach the folder and I can't upload the file itself. The file is from Nov. of 2006, by the way.
  15. Thank you Tom! 16. I just ran a quick scan on the Vista machine I keep an eye on and this is what I got. I didn't run it in developer's mode though, but I will shortly. I think they're probably just leftovers from something that Avira missed, as I saw detections in the scan history, but I just wanted to see if they were okay to remove. Thanks! 17. Seems like you already figured it out but, http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/winlogon.exe.html
  18. IE8, and I imagine IE7, will be supported for quite some time to come As for Windows Messenger, I hunted for the most recent and I found it: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-essentials-xp Download it, and you can uncheck what you don't want. I simply wanted to update my MSN messenger, so I only installed that portion
  19. Try and see if Recuva might be able to recover the file for you: http://www.piriform.com/recuva/builds Info on Recuva: http://www.piriform.com/recuva/features Download the Slim version, at the bottom of the page I am not sure if it will be able to recover the file but it's worth a try.
  20. @Shy I absolutely LOVE Burt's Bees. The original balm is awesome, but lately I've been using the Honey Balm, and it's great!! The pomegranate one is awesome too. I also got some of this recently, and I absolutely love it!: http://www.niveausa.com/products/lip-care/Repair-and-Protection @Gracie Hehe thanks. That's great that you've been donating your hair! I want to do that at some point but first I'll have to have the patience to let it get long enough... hehe.
  21. Hehe basically no makeup here, I don't see the point, it's a pain, expensive, and usually I have to re-do it Lipbalm and gloss, I'm good! A bit of eyeliner and/or shadow once in a while is usually it for me along with balm and gloss. Packing is usually quick for me too... guess I'm an oddball
