  1. Thanks for your reply, Maxi I am running a scan right now and it just finished Someone is physically stopping the scan; nothing on the computer is actually aborting it. Thanks for the idea, though.
  2. Hi Headless Horse, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Hmm. Do you have any P2P programs installed on your computer by any chance? As a side note, when replying, please use the ADD REPLY button at the bottom of the page. Thank you
  3. I was checking the reports log on the Vista I keep tabs on that I've installed Avira free on. Well, I saw in the log that the scans had been carried out, but the main page of the interface says no scan for a little over a month now! :/ I have it set to scan three times a week. Turns out the scan was aborted each time (by someone, nothing on the computer was actually stopping the scan), which I found out when checking the details of the scan logs. Currently the scan mode display is on minimized. My question is, what is invisible display mode like? I was considering changing the mode to that so that hopefully its not going to get aborted anymore! I am also going to have a chat with them about it; the scan shouldn't be getting stopped anyhow. Updates get through totally fine though
  4. Hello O.Orca, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Please read this first: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=3228 Then post your suspected false positive here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?a...w_post&f=42 And someone will have a look at it for you As a side note, when replying please use the "ADD REPLY" button, as this makes the forum easier to read. 5. Cool. But I haven't been here in almost a month. Ah well, I am glad that its working now anyway!
  6. That's good Right click is still working. I wonder if checking did something? hehe
  7. I hardly notice Mbam running at all in the background, and it gets along great with my antivirus program after adding the necessary exclusions
  8. Here you go, Jay Number of entries: 2 Maximum storage size: 20480 KiB Storage in use: 1 KiB Inactive storage: 1 KiB I'll be at this machine about another 4 hours after the time of this post. Edit: Oddly enough, I can now right click... weird. Anyway, I'll keep an eye on it and see if I can't later on.
  9. Unfortunately there is something that is still hanging around on your system preventing complete removal Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button or erase what the person you are replying to said, as this makes the forum easier to read. After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. Thank you
  10. Hello Teknique, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Firstly, did you update Malwarebytes prior to scanning?
  11. Hello Ray, That site is actually blocked by one of my security programs...

  13. Chimpy, I apologize for not seeing this sooner. I'm glad that you've figured it out. That stinks about the turbo issue though
  14. Hello planoguy, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org 1) It is still a good idea to scan from time to time (a quick scan at least once a week is a good idea), just in case something may have slipped through that was not in the database yet, and therefore realtime protection would not have caught it yet. 2) You still need an antivirus because Malwarebytes is NOT an antivirus; it is an anti Malware program, and is designed to be used with your antivirus program. 3) What operating system are you running? (in regards to your rules.ref question). Please use the ADD REPLY button when replying. Thank you
  15. Thanks mylanta3 Mind not quoting me, though, and taking it out? It's unnecessary, I know that you mean me, and it makes the thread more confusing. Edit: Thanks mylanta3
  16. Thanks much Chimpy I did one test with IP blocking on and one without. I'll try more tests over the next couple of days to compare.
  17. Ray, I'm glad that you're willing I am not a staff member but I am sure a staff member will see this thread shortly and walk you through any testing that she or he has for you. Thanks
  18. Buttons, Mind taking the quotage out? Yes, there needs to be more people who have this issue to speak up AND willing to work with the developors to do some testing in order to try and pinpoint what is causing the issue so a resolution can be worked on. Certainly you guys can't seriously think that Malwarebytes doesn't care! They are more than willing to walk users through testing, but as I said, some, perhaps many, have been unwilling to do necessary testing.
  19. Dwayne, I do understand why you are using it but still, its not exactly legal, even for your usages. I've been able to find some old music for sale on iTunes though, have you tried that at all, at least for the music? Ask yourself this question: is your uTorrent usage of more priority to you than the fact that you are putting your machine at risk (and maybe your personal information as well) every time you use uTorrent? As I said, they are responsible for spreading many infections, repeat infections, including some of the worst infections out there such as the TDSS rootkit and Virut file infectors. That being said, it is good that you scan everything after you download it. If you haven't experienced any issues between Malwarebytes and NOD32, then there isn't really anything else you should need to do. Mbam is designed to complement your AV program It doesn't hurt to add exclusious to NOD32 for Mbam though: Step 3: Exclude Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware's Files and Folders From Other Active Security Programs: For Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys For Windows Vista or Windows 7: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7: C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude them from it as well The FAQ contains examples of setting file exclusions for some known AV products.
  20. To everyone: Also, may I add, if I am understanding correctly, and if anyone knows for a FACT that I am wrong (admins, mods, employees and anyone else who knows for a FACT) please correct me - This issue has NOT been able to be tracked to a single cause, and some people with the issue have been unwilling to do necessary testing in order to help the development team figure out what is going on. Without knowing the actual CAUSE its hard to actually FIX the problem. More needs to be known and discovered about WHAT is causing the issue and WHY, and then a fix can be worked on... If YOU are having this issue, you should do any testing a staff member asks of you to help pinpoint the cause(s). Does this make sense? That being said - please be patient, please guys no need for name calling and typing in many caps letters. If you are unsatisified and want a refund, ask for one: support@malwarebytes.org Edit: PLEASE use the ADD REPLY button and address whomever you are speaking to, this makes the forum so much easier to read, thanks!
  21. Hey, how do you test this? I am curious to see if mine does change at all, but I don't know how to test.
  22. It is known, Ray, and is being worked on. I personally am not having any issues with it, though. Also, I personally don't think that's enough reason to want a refund and not have this excellent protection anymore. If turning off the IP blocker temporarily fixes the downloading speed issue, having the protection even without the IP blocking is a great thing to have. Edit: You can seek a refund though, via the email address that AdvancedSetup provided to you.
  23. Dwayne, Ah hah! Has to be uTorrent then. I highly, highly recommend uninstalling that and never ever using it again! If you must keep it, do the registry switch for a silent IP block. However, if you can wait, the new version of Malwarebytes coming out will have a silent IP block option built into the program, so no need to make the registry switch anymore. Again, I recommend uninstalling uTorrent... If its NOT uTorrent, you should have your machine looked at as you may be infected. To get checked, just follow Buttons's directions below As I hope you know, torrents are largely responsible for many infections and make it easy to spread infections among many users very quickly. You are quite welcome
  24. Hello DwayneR. Welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org, and thank you for your purchase Do you have any P2P programs installed perchance? As a side note, when replying, please use the ADD REPLY button, as this makes the forum easier to read. Thank you
