  1. Hello. I am a registered, paid user of MB. I have this fake antivirus, and i cannot run MB. I notice there was a qos.exe file my memory manager detected, which I terminated because i saw that this filename is associated with fake antivirus. Can you help with a manual, step by step removal of the pertenent files associated with his? Is there a previous thread?
  2. I am a registered, paid user of MB. MD will not start so i cannot use it to remove. I need a manual, step by step. Can someone point me to an existing thread on the manual removal of this? I believe one or more of the files associated with this is qos.exe.
  3. All, real professional responses. Sure, I'll we'll give 'em a chance. No one has officially acknowledged that THEY WILL get to a fix. No One has actually said when! Some talk of helping them, which I've offered, and no one has reached out looking for that help. Key word, PROFESSIONAL. They are providing fee software to the general public. Any free users, can go elsewhere if they dont like something. When selling a product to the general public, and when someone OWNS a copy, they have the RIGHT to expect answers. I dont believe I have really seen one, by anyone representing the company directly TO DATE addressing this, and it is a simple request. I'd appreciate the sarcastic commentor to go to a site more appropriate for this behavior.
  4. YOKENNY, not to be rude, but: I have- 2 laptops XP 32 2 desktops XP 32 1 desktop Vista 64 1 laptop Windows 7 64. NONE of my 32's have any problem, however both Vista 64 & Windows 7 64 have speed issues. How many computers with various operating systems do you have at your fingertips to make the statement that you made? With SIX COMPUTERS and THREE different operating systems, I THINK I am more than qualified to make a CONSUMER assessment that MY EXPERIENCE and WHAT I'M EXPERIENCING is leading me to comment that MY ISSUE seems to be only on...... 64 bit OS!
  5. It is only on High Speed and 64 bit OS. It doesnt impact 32 bit OS. I ask MAB to look into 64Bit OS to solve the problem.
  6. IT IS the problem. You cannot run anything that will work, because this Rougue security thing, blocks everything from running. This site, is a great help.... It teaches you how to manually remove. Also, search Utube. People who actually show you step by step, via video, how to remove this crap. Good luck.
  7. To Staff It seems to me, that x64 users and those of us with higher download speed potentials, seem to be the ones noticably affected. The users with the slower speeds, seem not to be as impacted. Thoughts?
  8. To All Staff, I think IP Protection is a valuable tool, and would like to use, provided it doesnt cause a huge reduction in download speed. Also, as more newer computers are being purchased, with larger RAM, x32 is not the choice of the day, but x64 will be. So, if this problem is seen more times with an x64 machine, then its really time to address soon. I am willing to do WHATEVER testing your group needs to do, to help figure out what's causing my problem. Just tell me how I can help YOU?
  9. Satori, I appreciate you're upset about your speed, but this isnt the issue. If you take a look at the PERCENTAGE reduction you are experiencing, you'll find that you are experiencing am 18% reduction in speed. I've just visited some other threads and it's really obvious, there are real problems here, ADMITTED by COMPANY personel. Have a look.... Slam Dunkley Feb 25 2010, 02:41 AM Post #1 New Member Group: Honorary Members Posts: 48 Joined: 15-January 10 Member No.: 29,897 It's confirmed malwarebytes does reduce internet speed, I saw the post from that guy who had 60mb internet which Malwarebytes slowed down by quite a bit, it used to be near 10mb but is now only 5-6mb since I was having trouble with my Internet speed, i thought I would try turning off Malwarebytes to see if my internet speed went up, I ran this test on the speedtest.net website, I ran it 10 times with Malwarebytes on, and 10 times with Malwarebytes off. I discovered on every time I turned on Malwarebytes the my internet was only at 5mb, but when turned off it was hitting near 10mb the amount I'm paying for, Malwarebytes you need to sort this out because there going to be plenty more who will notice this. exile360 Feb 25 2010, 03:00 AM Post #2 Forum Deity Group: Experts Posts: 6,852 Joined: 14-February 08 Member No.: 2,103 Greetings Yes, this is a confirmed issue and is being worked on by the developers. Thank you for reporting your findings . -------------------- Samuel E Lindsey Malwarebytes Quality Assurance Deke40 Mar 10 2010, 03:52 PM Post #1 New Member Group: Members Posts: 7 Joined: 5-March 10 Member No.: 34,939 As you can see by the image my speeds drop drastically when using the IP Protection of MalwareBytes. Is this normal and what can I do about it? Attached image(s)
  10. I suggest everyone who reads this string, test your internet speeds. Test with IP Protection On and Off. I also suggest anyone who is dissatisfied or satisfied with this IP Protection impact to download speeds make it known here and add to this string. If enough people show their disgust and are willing to ask for refunds, I want to see what the company's attitude will be.
  11. There is power in masses, when the masses affect the company's $$bottom line$$. When there is a mass request for refunds, or credit card reversals "en mas", you tell me what you think?
  12. IF YOU WOULD HONESTLY TELL ME THAT IT IS SOMETHING THAT YOU WILL ADDRESS SHORTLY, I WILL BE PATIENT. However, that other rep from your firm, who addressed me, had a REAL BAD attitude and exemplified a WE DONT REALLY CARE attitude, which is a tough one to swallow, when clients fork over their hard earned money for a product. I WOULD LIKE FOR YOU TO STATE YOUR COMPANY'S OFFICIAL POSITION ON WHETHER YOU WILL OR WON'T ADDRESS THIS ISSUE ON UPCOMING RELEASES/
  13. Excuse ME! Might you think that many, less computer literate people, may not even realize that IP Protector drops their download spead to 1/3rd of their capability? If several, which is evidenced here, report this as a known problem, have you people at Malawarebytes a conscience? This is a problem, PERIOD. As important as your current upgrades, this should be on the top 3 as well. Your team has admitted duplicating the problem IN YOUR OWN OFFICES, WITH YOUR OWN COMPUTERS. How much more evidence of a problem needing a fix do you need? Perhaps when EVERY paid subsriber demands a refund and you lose 40% of your revenue, you'll wake up.
  14. Agreed. Seems people have been compaining about this issue for quite some time. Its a great proactive mechanism, but I STILL dont understand the attitude! With soo many complains, I cannot see why this isnt on their top 3 things to do on their next software revision. Beats the crap outta me!
