  1. I don't know what the quarantine would be, it should have a folder name. I need this * Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt and a new HJT
  2. So how are things running? Your feedback is very important in this process.
  3. Awesome increase in scan speeds for me. They are around half the time of before this version. I ran a quickscan at install and it was 55 sec. but I didn't save the log, and the second one is below. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Version 0.80Database version: 231 Scan type: Full Scan (C:\|D:\|E:\|)Objects scanned: 94624Time elapsed: 37 minute(s), 19 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0Memory Modules Infected: 0Registry Keys Infected: 0Registry Values Infected: 0Registry Data Items Infected: 0Folders Infected: 0Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected:(No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected:(No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected:(No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected:(No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected:(No malicious items detected) Folders Infected:(No malicious items detected) Files Infected:(No malicious items detected)Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Version 0.80Database version: 231 Scan type: Quick ScanObjects scanned: 15627Time elapsed: 2 minute(s), 14 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0Memory Modules Infected: 0Registry Keys Infected: 0Registry Values Infected: 0Registry Data Items Infected: 0Folders Infected: 0Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected:(No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected:(No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected:(No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected:(No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected:(No malicious items detected) Folders Infected:(No malicious items detected) Files Infected:(No malicious items detected)Edit to add: I just noticed I had all drives checked to scan. So this scan time would be even shorter if it were only C:\ .
  4. Just follow the directions. Double click the file, it will extract itself by default to C:\ click install. Go to your C drive and open the folder SDFix and double click on the file RunThis. All you need to do is follow the prompts and post the logs. To answer your question, To boot to safe mode you reboot the PC and begin tapping the F8 key as soon as you here the beep or as soon as you reboot. You don't need to do that.
  5. Are you still having symptoms? Your log looks clean. We need to now reset a clean System Restore point. If you don't and you need to use System Restore you will reinfect yourself. Go to Start>Control Panel>System. Click on the System Restore tab and put a check in Turn off System Restore. Then click OK. Now go to Start>Help and Support > Undo Changes to Your System or System Restore depending on the make of your PC. Click on what ever will open the System Restore box. You will see two options, Choose Create a System Restore Point. Give it a name like Clean Restore Point and today's date. Now if you need to use it you have it. Many of these infections can be avoided with an added layer of prevention. All recommended programs are free and easy on system resources. You should install them as part of your protection arsenol. Keep Spybot Search & Destroy and always immunize when you update. You will also need at least one other scanning program AVG is good and there are several other excellent programs with free and paid versions. Read the overviews of what each program below does so you have an understanding of their importance and how to use. A firewall and antivirus are also essential. The Windows firewall in XP is not sufficient. Preform Windows Updates monthly on the second Tuesday or use automatic updates, and use your scanners weekly at the least. Always update before you scan. 6. OK we need to get rid of One Step. Look in Add/Remove programs for it. O23 - Service: OneStep Search Service - OneStepSearch.net, Inc. - C:\Program Files\OneStepSearch\onestep.exe The bold part of the line above shows the file path where it is located, delete that file after you uninstall it and put a check next to that line in HJT and this one below: O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file) Then click fix and exit HJT. Reboot and post a new log. Let me know how things are running for you.
  7. I don't think nosirrah meant you build the rogues. I think he meant you built the web site for the people building the rogues. I am not speaking for him, however, this is just my thought, since he then pointed out your words of inspiration. As for my words you have taken issue with. They were never meant to be polite. You put a totally abhorrent statement on a website, there is nothing funny about rape, no matter how you translate it. It is not a joke. It has been pointed out to you that more than myself find it offensive and yet you have chosen to defend it. The simple solution would be to remove the mention of rape from the website. If rape is a popular word for you in jokes, then you have done nothing but confirm everything that has been said here and more. It's not funny, ever.

That goes for everyone running under a non admin account for every day use is safest and logging into the admin account for updates and software installation.
  19. You didn't finish the process. You need to reboot and post a HJT log.

  21. Who should be responsible with the words they say? YOU You are the one that has a poor translation (if that is true) You are the one that has the ability to correct it. Sorry there is nothing inspiring about rape to anyone with a shred of moral consciousness. I see no reason to remove the thread. I will not discuss this in private messages either so don't bother sending any more.

  23. Hi there Dakna, and welcome to Malwarebytes. If you haven't already, please get these programs, update and run a complete scan removing all items found. Spybot Search & Destroy Be sure to use the immunize feature. But do not enable TeaTimer at this time. Use the tutorial feature in the help tab to see how to go about this. AVG AntiSpyware Be sure to "take action" Then go here and run a scan PandaActive Scan There is a full tutorial on how to to this at the top of this forum. Post the logs from the Panda and AVG scans please, along with a log from this program HiJack This! You will post three logs. 1. AVG scan. 2. Panda Active Scan. 3. HiJack This scan. You will finish the AVG first so go ahead and post that log, then move on to Panda and so forth. I will analyze the logs and give you further instructions. Be patient and persistent. These things can take time and many procedures.
  24. Quick scan 4 min 4 sec, sorry I forgot to write down the number of items. Full scan 110112 items 49 min 11 sec and both times are faster than last time i scanned.
