FitzoliverJ Posted February 8, 2014 Author ID:788307 Share Posted February 8, 2014 This is not a F/P. My database is up-to-date but I'm still getting these ip blocking messages. Same here, and I've also just had Firefox update as well. No change This is not a F/P. Well, can you explain what's going on and what can be done about it? Would it be safe to whitelist the Google IP addresses?

soundhaven Posted February 8, 2014 ID:788319 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Suffering from the same problem. I switched to using firefox which seemed to resolve the problem... until I uninstalled chrome (my default browser). Now I'm stuffed again. Clearly whatever I'm using is smart enough to know what my default browser is. It's driving me crazy!
PaulW1 Posted February 8, 2014 ID:788331 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Same problem here with both Firefox and IE. Google.com is blocked but google.co.uk is OK. Full scan did not reveal anything.
soundhaven Posted February 8, 2014 ID:788333 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Bugger. Disappointed to hear that Paul. My girlfriend's machine is now also infected. Hope someone sorts this soon.
Malware_Gone Posted February 8, 2014 ID:788337 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Mine seems to be fine, Then again I am a bit of a Computer geek and I have loads of Protection stuff. Anti-Malware, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Virus. Loads of that plus a Really Secure Homemade browser by me.Hope that all the people that have been Infected can sort their machines out. Best of luck to you all.~Evan..
FitzoliverJ Posted February 8, 2014 Author ID:788343 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Doesn't this seem a bit of an unlikely candidate for an infection? Nobody has said that their software has identified a cause, it's all happened to everybody more or less simultaneously, and the process Malwarebytes is objecting to seems to be a fairly normal activity. doverbeach Posted February 8, 2014 ID:788350 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Full malawarebyte scan on my pc reveals nothing... The key question is clearly are those IP addresses google's or not? If they are then it is false positive. If they aren't then there is some undetected infection.

PaulW1 Posted February 8, 2014 ID:788355 Share Posted February 8, 2014 "I have loads of Protection stuff. Anti-Malware, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Virus". Same here though not the home made browser. The block appears only to be triggered when attempting to access google.com. Odd.

MysteryFCM Posted February 11, 2014 ID:789555 Share Posted February 11, 2014 It was actually both. The IPs had been found housing malicious content, but should never have been blocked, due to the affect doing such, has on the Google sites.
