I use a registered version (1.51.2.1300) of the pro program. When you click "Check for updates" it says

"You have the latest database version". But the release date of 8/31/2011 Version 7622 database does not

change. I am logged in as an administrater and have used run as admin to start the program as well.

I also use CA (Computer Associates) antivirus and firewall on win7. Everything worked well for the past 2 years.

Any ideas?

  • Root Admin

Please try the following and let us know if the issue continues

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

May be fixed.

I followed the instructions in the previous post.

After initial update, same issue date and database version remained 8/31/2011.

Exited Malwarebytes and opened again, upon update same message but date is now 10/3/2011 and DB version is 7858.

I will try again tomorrow and see if everything is ok.

Thanks for your help.

All is well. When I started Malwarebytes it was already updated to version 7862 today's date.

I purchased my first copy in 2006 and have never had a problem that Malwarebytes could not handle.

I have had many friends and associates who have had many problems and I advise them to get Malwarebytes.

One of the best programs I have ever bought.

Thanks for your help
