Antivirus 2009

Recommended Posts

OK, lets begin.....

I've had this bitch of a spyware a few times before, and I had no problems removing it with malware bytes previously....

Today, yet again, the annoying antivirus 2009 somehow found its way onto my PC. I proceed to run malware bytes ( full scan ), it finds it, and deletes it.... awesome.... I reboot the PC, so far eveyrhing seems nice, no annoying pop-ups or warnings.....

Then I fire up Internet Explorer, lowe and behold.... my homepage tries to load and then it turns into this: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3198/262037..._a63f31835f.jpg

I try to get to google and it turns into this: http://img.bleepingcomputer.com/swr-guides...gle-warning.jpg

All other sites work just fine, but whenever I try to get to the page that was my homepage or google I get these warnings....

I ran another malware bytes full scan, adaware, spybot, and crapcleaner..... none of them found anything or helped at all.... apparantly AntiVirus 2009 has been purged from my PC.... but my original homepage and google seem to still be infected....

I'm pretty effin upset, I need to get to my homepage for work, even if I go to another site and manually type in the url of my original homepage it still wont let me access it.

Guys, have mercy.... wtf do I do now?

You may have or had a DNS changing trojan.

Check your TCPIP config in your network adapter. The DNS server setting may have been changed. I have had to change this back manually even after running all antispyware/virus tools.

Also make sure you have no proxy server setting in Internet Options. (tools>internet options).

Just hang one here. I'm not allowed to help but see that the line

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0B014B81-4E12-46F9-806F-55867AF8FD3C} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\winsystems.dll

is linked to antivirus 2009 (so it's not clean at all).

Thanks for the suggestion. Looks like it fixed the blocking. I really appreciate it.

Hal
