Error code 05

Recommended Posts

Hello, today i got a message, i think it was MBAM ERROR LOAD DATABASE (0,5)

I've had this problem before on my XP computer. This one is windows 7 64 bit. MBAM terminated, I could not open it again.I had to find and delete rules.ref, before it would run again. In the logs it says

zlib::decompress failed with error code 6

MESSAGE Protection stopped

Whats causing this. I use windows firewall and Avira premium. Thank you

My main concern is that my family were using the computer without MBAM able to run,, before i noticed this problem.

Hello mikispiki:

This is normally due to corrupt/incomplete download of Database. Do you have following exclusions added in Avira for MBAM?

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll
  • C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
  • C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

You also have to exclude mbam.exe and

data-cdn.mbamupdates.com

from firewall
