Security Tools Infection

Hi, I've followed the instructions in your online removal guide (http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=66064) but the infection isn't found by MBAM - can anyone help please?

I'm helping a friend with a Lenovo S10-2 netbook, running Windows 7 Starter (2GB RAM & 1.66 GHz Atom CPU).

To confirm, I've saved the MBAM setup file to the desktop as iexplore.exe but Security Tools wouldn't let it install so I rebooted in SAFE mode to complete installation.

I then rebooted again into normal mode and ran MBAM (as iexplore.exe) but it found nothing.

Can anyone suggest some next steps for me?

Welcome to Malwarebytes.

Please run this in Safe Mode.

• Download OTL to your desktop.
  
• Double click on OTL to run it.
  
• When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
  
• Under the Standard Registry box change it to All.
  
• Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
  
• Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    
  • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply.

Hi - me again!!

I've just walked the process again, with the difference that I updated MBAM first (I didn't work when I first installed it).

This time, three infections found and removed.

REBOOT ...

It worked!!
