Root Admin RubbeR DuckY Posted September 10, 2008 Root Admin ID:27396 Share Posted September 10, 2008 I apologize for such a quick update, we needed to patch up a few bugs in the program which a few of our Windows 2000 users may have experienced.Version 1.28 (September 10th, 2008)1. (FIXED) Problem with heuristics on Windows 2000.2. (ADDED) Better malware regeneration prevention on reboot.Let me know in case of any problems, other than that, you probably do not need to post in this thread since this is such a small update . dpurser Posted September 10, 2008 ID:27415 Share Posted September 10, 2008 The updater from 1.27 to 1.28 failed. It first said that I did not have admin rights.I downloaded 1.28 and tried to install that over 1.27. It installed but without any protection services - error code 997.I uninstalled and tried installing 1.28 again but with the same result. I then uninstalled 1.28 and reininstalled my original version 1.21. That version installed and immediately updated itself to 1.28 without any problems and it appears to be working OK now with the protection module loaded. EliteKiller Posted September 10, 2008 ID:27423 Share Posted September 10, 2008 I used the internal (malwaresupport.com mirror) updater and no problems to report. After 1.28 installed I only see malwarebytes.org and securitywonks.net for mirrors.

TOTO Posted September 14, 2008 ID:27828 Share Posted September 14, 2008 Hi,I have a problem with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, version 1.28.At the end of the install process, I had the follow message :In French : "Une erreur est survenue. Veuillez transmettre au support de Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware le code d'erreur ci-dessous:Error code: 718 (-2146893799,0) "Translation in English (roughly) : "An error occured. Please send to the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware support the following error code : Error code: 718 (-2146893799,0) "Then, each time I try to open Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.28, I have the same message and the program doesn't work.I had the same problem with the version 1.26 (or 1.25, I don't remember exactly) when I tried to get Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware for the first time.My OS is Windows 2000 and when I (try to) work with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware I'm logged as an "root" ("Administrateur" in French). My computer is an old Pentium II 400MHz with 192Mo of RAM.Best regards
Root Admin RubbeR DuckY Posted September 14, 2008 Author Root Admin ID:27874 Share Posted September 14, 2008 Error 718 usually refers to the cryptography engine. Please update Windows 2000 to SP4 with the latest updates and let me know if it was fixed.
