  1. I am suspecting it may be the Online Armor Firewall which prevents the update running on reboot. Looking at their Forum there are some similar problems with other software such as Acronis. The solution indicated is to put the firewall into learning mode before rebooting so that it does not block anything. I will let you know if this works next time there is an update.
  2. Thanks but as it is working OK now there is not much to work out. If I have the same problem with the next update I will be back! For the record I am on XP Pro and run Esset NOD 32 AV and Online Armor Firewall. I have tried running Malwarebytes on my back-up pc and have had the same problem.
  3. I am still having trouble with automatic program upgrades. The last two versions updated OK but from 1.32 to 1.33 failed once again with the services not loading. I find the only way to install is to uninstall with Revo Uninstaller and make sure the registry is cleaned of all traces of Malwarebytes. Reboot, download the latest version and reinstall. It is about time that these problems are sorted out.
  4. Automatic Update failed again as it did in version 1.30. Failed to register dll/ocx
  5. I have failed to update to 1.3 on two computers. I have tried the auto update and also uninstalling and reinstalling. Errors shown are: unable to register dll/ocx. Create process failed Code 5 access is denied and error code 1073. The service will not run and there is no icon in the task tray. Help please. I had trouble updateing to 1.29 as well. I use Online Armour firewall and wonder if that may be causing a problem.
  6. The updater from 1.27 to 1.28 failed. It first said that I did not have admin rights. I downloaded 1.28 and tried to install that over 1.27. It installed but without any protection services - error code 997. I uninstalled and tried installing 1.28 again but with the same result. I then uninstalled 1.28 and reininstalled my original version 1.21. That version installed and immediately updated itself to 1.28 without any problems and it appears to be working OK now with the protection module loaded.
  7. Thanks RubbeR DuckY. I look forwards to the new version. I have tried unchecking the "Start with Windows" in Protection - General settings, but it makes no difference. What is it meant to start? The program, the protection or the scheduler. Also what is the "Start with windows" do when right clicking on the task bar icon? I also find that the "Help" button does not work, so have to ask questions on the forum.
  8. Many thanks. As it is shown under "General Settings", I had assumed that meant start Malwarebytes with windows, not just the protection. I think the wording is poor and the general appearance of the program could be improved. It wuld also help if the taskbar icon changed a little when acticve protection is disabled. However the scanning and updating is very good. I have also noticed that if the active protection is enabled, some programs will not start at all, including Roboform. I assume that this is a conflict between NOD32 and Malwarebytes. I therefore use Malwarebytes as a scheduled daily scanner.
  9. Is there any way in which the Real Time Protection can be disabled so that it does not load automatically every time windows boots up. I find that it slows the loading of my programs dramatically and I have to disable it from the task bar icon. It is then only disabled until the next boot up. Not a real problem but just annoying. I am running XP sp3 and NOD32. Malwarebytes v1.27.
