Successfully removed Antivirus 2009.

I just wanted to post a thank you to the developers of Malwarebytes. This is the only all in one cleaner I have used so far that effectively cleaned the Antivirus 2009 virus consistently. Before I had to use a combination of AVG, Spybot Search & Destroy and manually delete Windows registry entries for this virus. I ran Malwarebytes on the infected computer and it quickly scanned and removed all references to this rogue virus. I was actually surprised how easy it was to use this utility. I double checked the registry to look for remnants of the virus and it was completely removed. I have been fixing computers for 17 years and this is one of the best malware removal utilities I have ever used.

Once again thanks for making this great program.

;) To all the guys and gals at Malwarebytes a big THUMBS UP!! You all definatly got it right with this program. A friend gave me his old laptop with the Antivirus 2009 addware on it not to mention a few other nasty little treats. Malwarebytes was the only one that toasted them. Great job And thank you all. I'm a lifetime fan now lol.

I too managed to readicate Anti '09 - I just hope it stays gone. I have been removing this program twice a day for a month now. It seems to attach to many sites on the internet. i initially encountered it on a Java site and eventually had to wipe my disc clean and start again (alas, it would not let me back up the files I had created over the last month (I usually back up more often but let it slip). This is a vicious malware problem. Is it necessary to buy the added Malware protection program to "keep it gone"? It ia definitely a headache no one needs but someone took great pains to develop.
