Is mbam.exe a virus?

Recommended Posts

Hello Falcao and welcome to MalwareBytes.

Do let us know if this is a Portuguese or Spanish version of Windows. Do let me know if you possibly are getting help somewhere else.

I can't tell for sure the location of items that the Avast is pointing to.

But, please do this:

Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop

  • Please double-click TFC.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista or Windows 7, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
  • It will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.
  • Click the Start button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Let it run uninterrupted to completion.
  • IF prompted to Reboot, reply "Yes".

Start MBAM. Go to the Quarantine tab.

Select all items there (if any) and choose to Delete all.

Then Exit MBAM.

Do the similar in Avast. Start Avast. Go to the quarantine folder. Have it remove the items in quarantine.

Now, do a new scan with Avast and tell us if the same issue appears again.

btw, after some research, I conclude your Windows & programs are in Portuguese.
