Music website hacked?

Recommended Posts

Hi i think the following site www.arminvanbuuren.us/ which i used to frequent once in a while to hear trance music, has been hacked and is spreading malware ?

ive been there before with no problems, so i went there yesterday to play music. First i had AVAST on and it blocked the website from starting up saying something about a HTML program running that it blocked. I figured it was blocking the usual music player and thus disabled AVAST.

The website then hijacked the IE explorer window and suddenly it had the look of a windows explorer folder, just as if you had just clicked "My computer" you know with the C: drive the D: drive and a bar that said it was scanning for viruses, and it pretended to come up with all kinds of hits as this false sudden forced virus scan appeared, i started out trying to alt+F4 my way out but it kept coming up with question boxes saying my webpage was in danger or something, i did get it closed finally but it took a bit of time.

im afraid i didnt shut it down fast enough and maybe some virus/malware was transmitted.

Can someone please help me, as to how i can find out if anything was infected, and possibly discover what kind of hijack has suddenly taken over this rather large music provider.

i ran an AVAST scan on one computer and it didnt find anything, but i still think my laptop seems to be running suspiciously slower.

I ran malware bytes which only found some adware zango and websearch, and something called disabled security center anti notify or something, i deleted 5 hits of aforementioned things.

Here is my hijack this log

Thought i would notice what advice i got from another forum, another user said:

"Yes, the website had been hacked and my antivirus software Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 had detected virus on the website. KIS reported that "Detected: Trojan.JS.Redirector.cq".

Maybe you should Download Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 and make a deep scan in the SAFE MODE."

If so how can i found out if i have gotten this trojan?

Hi again,

Please use t_reply.gif-button while replying :P

Azureus

LimeWire

Above listed ones are P2P file sharing programs. P2P downloads are nowadays one of those things that most likely bring infection into the system. My recommendation is to uninstall these (and other if present) P2P file sharing programs.

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running ComboFix tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully first.

Please continue as follows:

  1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
    Remember to re-enable them afterwards.
  2. Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

C:\ComboFix.txt

New dds log.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

Hi again,

Please download DeFogger to your desktop.

Double click DeFogger to run the tool.

  • The application window will appear
  • Click the Disable button to disable your CD Emulation drivers.
  • Click Yes to continue
  • A 'Finished!' message will appear
  • Click OK
  • DeFogger will now ask to reboot the machine - click OK

IMPORTANT! If you receive an error message while running DeFogger, please post the log defogger_disable which will appear on your desktop.

Do not re-enable these drivers until we've finished.

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Save this as

Close all browser windows and refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe

Then post the resultant log.
