My HP pavillion laptop won't boot up no matter what I try (safe modes, etc). I recv a blue error message screen that says:

stop: c0000218 <registry file failure> registry cannot load the hive (file): \systemroot\system32\config\software or it's log or alternative

It is corrupt, absent or not writable

Begining dump of physical memory

physical memory dump complete

Contact your system administrator or tech support for further asistance

My laptop was fine when it was shut off (or so I thought) and without warning when turned back on this is what I get.

Help me pretty please.

Also to add:

Run a diagnostics of the memory and hard drive. Faulty Ram and a Bad Hard Drive will cause corruption.

Thank you for the replies.

No, I havnt modified any hardware/software.

Can you tell me how to run a diagnostics of the memory and hard drive? I went into bios and did a test in there. I think it was a hard drive test. and it said it was ok.
